Re: Rayman Legends
Got the Wii U version a week ago(got PC since release) and now i realise how stupid this game is on anything but Wii U and Psvita (the Murfy parts then)

Re: Rayman Legends
I take it you don't like the concept of using Murphy as a button then? I feel like some parts of the game would feel really weird in that format, unless they changed part of the level design.

They did, in a lot of levels.dartofthedavros wrote:I take it you don't like the concept of using Murphy as a button then? I feel like some parts of the game would feel really weird in that format, unless they changed part of the level design.

So far, I am loving the Wii U version. I played it with Weretoons101 the other day and we had so much fun with it.
Re: Rayman Legends
Sounds fun! Definitely gonna pick this version up for the Wii U near the holidays. I wish that they still had those Pre-Order costume Editions at Gamestop.

Re: Rayman Legends
It's definitely worth getting a Wii U for. And it still makes me sad that third party companies are still dissing it. It functions so well! There's a lot of potential in it and people aren't taking advantage of it!
Re: Rayman Legends
No lie, the Xbox 360 port was still very enjoyable even if you had to control Murfy with button presses. It actually made the game more fun. Though Wii U seems to be the real winner. At least, Nintendo is making some real awesome games for its console. Never expect the help to come from others I say.
Re: Rayman Legends
This is true. I got very satisfied with the Wii U version but the companies seem to only care about PS4 and Xbox One by this point...Earth Gwee wrote:It's definitely worth getting a Wii U for. Re: Rayman Legends
Well, in my honest opinion, Wii U does not need to be filled with M rated shooters that are 3rd party. I think Nintendo's policy on 3rd party titles is good because they are preventing bunch of useless games to be on Wii U. When something is 3rd party but worth checking out, it usually comes on Wii U too. RL is perfect example and even Assassin's Creed and CoD games are on Wii U (I am not even fan of CoD btw). With that said, I couldn't care less that some 3rd party companies are dissing it. Nintendo does not need their trash anyways and they want to keep their system clean with quality games onlyEarth Gwee wrote:It's definitely worth getting a Wii U for. Re: Rayman Legends
As someone who wishes to be a game developer, I can see why this is. I love my Wii U and it has some awesome exclusives but it really is Nintendo's fault for making the thing so damn unnecessarily complicated to develop for. Huge triple A games like Metal Gear Solid V aren't coming to the system because not only would it be unnecessary to develop for, but the small Wii U install base is something to think about. Why spend so much money putting it on a console that it won't sell very well on? Put yourself in the perspective of a developer, you just published your game on PS3/360/STEAM, but now you want to put it on the Wii U, but not only would it be costly, but you'd have to consider if it'd pay off in the end.Earth Gwee wrote:It's definitely worth getting a Wii U for. I love Nintendo, but I highly disagree when people say "Nintendo doesn't need these third party titles." This is the reason why the Wii U is selling poorly. I love my Wii U for exclusives but I really wish Nintendo had others in mind when making the console. It's a good console with awesome games, but the lack of third party support, is not the developers fault in my eyes. I don't care about these big 3rd party titles missing out on Wii U, because I play Third Party games on PC, but for the sake of Nintendo living, I hope they get a better grip on third party.

Re: Rayman Legends
Agreed. Additionally, don't forget that since the new focus is Xbox One and PS4, developing for Wii U would be even more extraneous due to the old-ass hardware. Not only would you have to port it, you'd have to pretty much redesign a crapload of it. Not only is it time-consuming, it's downright pointless.
Re: Rayman Legends
@Rayfist
I need to say this, even though you will probably disagree with me. I think that if Nintendo had all the 3rd party games that STEAM, PS4, Xbox One have, I feel they would no longer be Nintendo fans love. I also got quite a good number thumbs up on one YT comment where I mentioned this so many hardcore Nintendo fans agrees with this thinking (Sergio as well, and he is big Nintendo fan). I might not be such hardcore Nintendo gamer but I still dislike the idea of Nintendo focusing mainly on 3rd party. Like I said on my previous post, it's not like no 3rd party games ever come. I can't help a feeling that if Nintendo would focus on same 3rd party titles like other systems that it would be like "selling their souls". Because they would clearly do it just for money and to boost sales and their system would be trapped with a lot of 3rd party games that would overshadow Nintendo's 1st party. Many Nintendo fans would not like that.

Re: Rayman Legends
It was also thanks to Rayman Legends that I got extra reasons to get a Wii U for myself. Although I do enjoy the Nintendo exclusives, if Rayman wasn't coming out for it I would hesitate more in the purchase of the console. I think third parties also weight in people's decisions.
Re: Rayman Legends
True they definitely do. The way I see Nintendo is that they are picky and just want 3rd parties that suit their style and not many of them that don't look appealing to main Nintendo fans. Rayman definitely suit that style so I am glad when good 3rd party titles come on Wii U.

Re: Rayman Legends
Rayfist wasn't suggesting that Nintendo 'focus on third-party games primarily', simply to leave their system more open in order to allow third-party developers to have an easier time building for it.
That would have no affect on their creative integrity, it isn't "selling their soul".

Re: Rayman Legends
I can't believe you guys think third party for Nintendo is a bad thing. That is ridiculous, I want Nintendo to succeed and have there console sell well. The Wii U sales are bad and Nintendo is to blame for it for the lack of big third party titles and outdated hardware. Again, I love my Wii U, but I'm not gonna fanboy it, the console certainly has flaws that many people refuse to admit. Hell, this problem with third party was around in the N64 era and progressively got worse.
Nintendo is a business, the goal of a business is to make money. They wouldn't be selling their souls at all just because they have better third party. Hell, the GC has decent 3rd party support, what is wrong with making a comeback?
