First time I watched movie where he played was Aladdin. I will never be able to enjoy hearing Genie's jokes on the same way ever again.
First live action film with him I watched was Mrs. Doubtfire. I know sequel was planned but looks like thats never gonna happen now...
Sad that suicide was a cause of death. I could never understood how can someone do it. I guess he was really depressed
Ye, this is most certainly very sad. Not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said, but I was very shocked to see this. My condolences to his family and friends. Suicide is a terrible thing.
I wish more people were open about it and actually went to talk with someone regarding their problems but most of people hide it and when nobody expects it, they commit it
Also, just to clarify so everyone knows, I do not believe in concept that everyone who commits suicide "go to hell".
A bit. I know that not everything is bright down here, but seeing only the worse will keep you down. And I hope we're not in hell right now, because otherwise I would be VERY disappointed by all the definitions I've been given about hell so far.
That put a smile on my face, Gwee. I'm sure he would've liked it very much.
Regarding the suicide, if I'm not mistaken I recall it may have been an act to combat the onset of dementia... more of my thoughts in the plus-minus thread.
Robin Williams..it truly is sad to see him go. And at 63! Way too young, but if what I read in Shroobie's post on the Pluses and Minuses thread is true then I'm glad that this is what he chose rather than to slowly lose himself to dementia.
I'm trying to remember the name of either a channel or a video title. There used to be a few videos on YouTube that were made with Lego stop motion and they had an incredibly funny scripting and direction. The animation itself was almost seamless. The story between the several episodes went something like this:
There's two guys living in an apartment. One of them has made an incredible mess of the place so his roommate naturally asks him to clean it up. The first finds a lightsaber among all the junk and begins to 'clean' the apartment, resulting in, for example, the toilet being cut in half. They get up to all sorts of antics and eventually ninjas appear randomly in their apartment at night, trashing the place to look for it. They get contacted by some guy with living hair calling himself 'Bob' - his hair would bob up and down as he said it -, who had a skull in a jar as a friend (he was a bit like Marvin for HHGthG in his depressed way of speech). All kinds of weird things like killer robot machines and epic standoffs between the forces of evil and the forces of, er, Bob, result in these two fulfilling their unlikely destiny as heroes of all ... and then they return to their apartment life.
I laughed so much at these and it's a real shame to have to admit that all my search attempts have come up with nil. So here's a long shot in trying my luck finding people who also knew these animations and remember the name of either their creator or their titles - if I had only that, I'd have something to go on. The videos themselves were really old, upwards of over five years ago I saw them.
Thanks if you have anything that can help me getting these brilliant pieces of art back.
