This. I remember when we still had the Escudo currency. With 2000$ (10€ nowadays) you could buy lots of stuff and could last for week or more. Now with 10€ you can only pay an ok lunch. Euro is a really expensive currency.

Not exactly: salaries have also been increasing since the introduction of the Euro. The issue is our purchasing power, which is the one in real free fall in the last past years.

Although Haruka raised a good point, especially since the situation in Portugal is not as good as many other countries in Europe.

I was making a silly comparison because I'm currently in the situation where I'm in another country where things are cheaper when compared to the same ones in Europe, but I'm still receiving money from Europe, which makes life way easier in certain aspects (like entertainment. more money means more entertainment ). In Europe, it's different because most countries are using the same money, but you can make parallels in the fact that if you are working in Germany but living in Poland, sure you are able to live better (and even buy more beers for the same amount of money).

But this si getting out of topic there. I don't know why, but a certain member has been triggering a lot of off-topic situations on the RPC lately (this is a joke of course, don't take it seriously).

This is something you'll use every day as one of your primary sources of entertainment for the next 5-6 years. $400 for that is so cheap. Rent for a shithole place costs at least twice or thrice that per-month.

He was referring to how $400 was a pretty good bargain for something you're going to use so often, not "it's $400 so it's gonna be good shitwad." Also, my laptop cost $2000 and it has an integrated GPU, because that money was spent elsewhere, to make it more mobile and the like, so you most likely spent your money in the wrong arena, but that's not relevant to the point Adsolution was trying to make.

Provided you are allowed to play every day. When I was a teenager, my parents were very restrictive about video games: I could only play some 2 or 3 hours per week, which made buying any kind of console, although not really expensive, not worth it in my situation.

Well, I doubt most people here are ten anymore, or whenever that time restriction was more in effect.

Yeah, I've been shopping around for my replacement laptop, and I've had it on good authority that this new one has a discrete graphics chip this time, seeing how the lack of one in my current laptop severely limited me.

Lame Ubisoft, lame. So they are going to kill everything. Great. I am not buying a PS4 to play Rayman 4 or any other game. They did the same with Game 4 of The Behemoth (Yep, i love Battleblock Theater ) This is just horrible, i think the PS3 in some years will become obsolete. God damn developers.
