Agreed, I play Rayman 2 on my laptop with a keyboard just fine, but I always use a controller for Rayman 3.

I don't have any issues when I play R3 just for fun but it has proven to be challenging for the real scoring. I need to try out the controller later.

Same here. Reminds me of Darksiders II, kinda: playing with the keyboard is fine, but the last level of difficulty proved to be challenging with the basic controls.

I do have a controller but I never tested it on R3. Do you think that the PS3 controller would work fine? At least it would make my life easier with the Matuvu combos if it worked.
PS3 controller should work fine, but some computers require an input fix for Rayman 3 for any controller inputs to be registered

I don't know your actual Score, but you can get both of the Green Gems for 9.000 Points if you just manage to hit the Shoe twice before killing him (which is sufficient if you want to get 26.000 Points after Part 1). There's 8 Yellow Gems in the secret room, so you could play like this:

S S Y Y Y | Y Y Y Y Y | G G
(S - Shoe, Y - Yellow Gem, G - Green Gem, | signifies increased Combo-Value)

As I said, including the Matuvu in this Part is difficult to begin with. That's just my opinion, but I'd recommend everyone to play this way later on, as you can "easily" get 40.000 Points without it; and that's more than enough for a good total Score.

Probably a matter of personal preference and practise though, I'm completely fine with using my keyboard.

i don't have a video, sorry.

either way, CF part 1 is solved...

The Clearleaf Forest IPG

ladies and gentlemen, players and spectators, i present to you the result of our weeks of labor to finally reach a final score for CF part 1 in the ipg-category. for the past few months i had not been satisfied with this part and i was convinced there was an ipg to be triggered somewhere. after a defining discovery from mountain goat, which you can see in the following video, it was finally possible for us to trigger an ipg all by ourselves for the first time ever.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rHsynAsYog

The process of finding this glitch was not an easy feat at all, ranging from crazy launching glitches in the middle of this cutscene, to flying into the loading zone of the bridge cutscene from way above the stage. you are safe to assume that a lot of time was invested in this breakthrough, and the result is a big step towards a final score in CF (which we are still like 1000 points away from).

Either way, after Mountain Goat's find which allowed us to delay the cage cutscene it actually didn't take too long to find this ipg. to be fair, the way i found to trigger it is pretty retarded though and in no way reliable. it included rolling into the cutscene's trigger zone while pulling off a launching glitch that got you into the necessary position to trigger the ipg (i succeeded with this like once in 20 trys, haha). see for yourself:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82jR5CruVGU

luckily, cut found a pretty handy method that allows us to trigger the glitch reliably (works for me 9 out of 10 times) so this final issue is already solved. i guess it was too simple, as i was just blind to the fact that you can simply jump into the ipg trigger zone. no launching glitch is needed at all:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p69kBXFefOc

the downside, as shown in the 2nd video, is, that there is actually a teleport at the bottom of the tree trunk, that doesn't work while the ipg is active. very conveniently, there is a spot on the floor that is not solid and you can simply fall through it and take the 4 minute flight to the other area, which, also very conveniently, is placed low enough for you to be able to fly there at all (seriously, did the developers plan for this?! it's crazy).

as i already said, this discovery is a huge step towards a final 123k maximum in CF. my first goal after this find will be 880k points total. i will then take it from there. i'll probably go back to speedrunning binding of isaac and learning pokemon red though. there's so many games to play right now :D

Wow, thanks for the videos. It's outrageous you have to helicopter for four(!) minutes to get to the next combo.

I have always thought the last combo deserved to played with a Powerup and the HMF is a nice fit :)

Just a few questions about the Matuvus. I have never tried to take a Matuvu with the IPG active and there seems to be some issues regarding the Lock On mode. Will you be able to take the first Matuvu through the Door like we do in our walkthrough, that is in combo after breaking the Door or after a Pig? And do you have trouble with the second Matuvu?

Those 4500+ points gained from the last combo should put you comfortably over 120k points.

Are you playing for real now, or looking for an IPG in part 2?

I'm still no fan of the IPG, but congratulations on that achievement, and thanks for sharing your findings!

One question though, do you lose 2.500 Points for the Matuvu, or is it possible to get it into some Combo?

Edit: Seems like MandM was faster. :P

One question: this CF IPG looks similar to the one found in tToTL, which required a different method to work on PC. Does this IPG work on the PC version?

Congratulations from me also. Despite being an anti-IPG campaigner, it was very interesting (as it always is) to watch footage of one in play. I never imagined the two sections of part 1 could be so distant.

it's really stupid, but then again, considering how convenient everything is in the end we can't complain. when i jumped down the tree for the first time i thought i got trapped down there with no way to escape. it was actually a bit horrifying, i was afraid at first that there was no way to get to the second zone. i really wonder what the developers were thinking when they added that one spot down there where you can just fall through the floor X_X and the 2nd area is pretty much in the perfect position, if it was just a bit higher we wouldn't even be able to reach it.

lookmode during ipg is pretty messed up, but we got it to work. it's pretty hard to explain what happens exactly, but to put it simple, you can't look up or down in lookmode. HOWEVER if you mash the look mode button while in lookmode, it's somehow possible to be able to look around anyway. it's pretty hard to do and to explain, i guess it's just one of those things you have to experience for your self if you're interested in it. to answer your question, we have been playing both matuvus combos in CF1 exactly like you guys have and it's still possible with the ipg, albeit a lot harder.

cut plays on pc and he has been able to trigger hit as you can see in his video.

that's actually the case for a lot of levels in the game. remember the video i made years ago about the green bar in sbtc part 1? it's a 20 minute trip to that loading zone with the infinite super copter. you can abserve the same thing in DOTK part 1 in the speedrunner's video footage. basically, where there is a teleport somewhere in the level, the rooms are usually really far apart.
Are you playing for real now, or looking for an IPG in part 2?
i have been looking into ipgs in part 2 for a while before my break and never found anything that even leads me to believe there is an ipg to be triggered there. it's just a feeling, but my feelings in regards to this glitches have been rather accurate in the past. i have no ambitions to look for ipgs in part 2 anymore and the moment.

i'm still not sure if there is an ipg somewhere in part 3, but for the moment that would be our last-resort solution. as is said, there's only 500-1000 points left for us to be found. that has to be achievable without an ipg :)

Congratulations! Also congratulations on entering top 3 in HoF. It's an amazing scoring curve you have followed. :partyhat:

Good job in FC. Those Matuvus and Tribelles are not easily tamed. What's next?

Good luck with that.
I've been trying to move up the leaderboards lately as well. Can't tell if I'm just bad at the game or this is just really hard.
