Picture City is the bane of my experience with the game.Fifo wrote:Picture City wasn’t that hard for me.OldClassicGamer wrote:Play anything from Picture City if you want hardest stuff.
Fucking erasers, man.
It's literally mostly the bouncy erasers and the ink paths.
Everything else about that world is fantastic, but then you have that one cage that's stuffed way the hell down a collection of erasers and all that other wonderful crap that you need to get through to finish a level. It's amazing.

Re: Rayman 1
Hey I don't see what so hard about Allegro Presto. It was a fun level, even with the slippery mechanics.
Re: Rayman 1
Jaguar version of Allegro Presto is easiest
Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, but it's not as fun.
Re: Rayman 1
I think Jaguar version did good removing slippery platforms in Band Land and Picture City since I found those parts frustrating as hell in other versions but I guess thats me.
Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, but that's the challenge. Sure, Rayman in this game controls and feels like a boulder, but in those levels he felt really good to control.

Re: Rayman 1
I love Allegro Presto.
Band Land as a whole, probably one of my favorite worlds.

Re: Rayman 1
In my opinion, Band Land is the best 2D Rayman world to date.

Yeah, I'm fond of the surreal worlds and their themes. I love Band Land, Picture City, and Candy Chateua.

Re: Rayman 1
As a returning player, I actually find Picture City to much more consistent/easier than Band Land due to lack of ice physics. However, I agree that the ice physics are basically an integral part of Band Land, and them being gone in the Jaguar version makes the levels a lot less fun.
Re: Rayman 1
I usually prefer the more organic and natural worlds - but Band Land is just so magical and unique!Bradandez wrote:Yeah, I'm fond of the surreal worlds and their themes. I love Band Land, Picture City, and Candy Chateua.

Re: Rayman 1
Blue Mountains is my favorite world, I simply loved the atmosphere; it felt like every single detail just went together perfectly. The level design was also fantastic as well, and basically any fuckup of yours in that part feels extremely fair as well.
Re: Rayman 1
Eh, I disagree. I'm not fond of the natural worlds because they seem generic to say the least. Nothing about them stand out. This is also a problem in Origins with the worlds Jibberish Jungle, Sea of Serendipity, and Mystical Pique.

Hmm, I'm for Blue Mountains too. I find I like a balance between surreal and naturalistic, and the Blue Mountains has a rather natural feel to it, but feels pretty alien while it's at it too. The aurorae in the background of some levels is a very nice touch for me.

Re: Rayman 1
I kinda like the Blue Mountains music, but all in all that's really all I remember about it.
Looking at something like the Caves, that's an experience that's much more memorable. Maybe because I died a lot and got to see the levels over and over, but at the same time I remember doing the same in pretty much every other world.
Point is, though, the Mountains really don't feel all that special. They're just mountains.

Re: Rayman 1
I honestly can't say I have a favourite out of the six worlds, in terms of design and atmosphere.
Re: Rayman 1
Sorta the same with me too, but instead it's with the three surreal worlds.
