There is no weighing out process to be done, imo. If you know that shitty, irresponsible parenting exists when it comes to acquiring alcohol and have real concerns for young alcoholics, yet you still allow for such behaviour in your society, what does that say about the country you are running?Adsolution wrote:If it were ingrained into our culture enough, yes. Of course, there'll always be those terribly irresponsible parents who don't show their kids anything, but weighing it out, I think the positives outweigh the negatives in general.Xenon wrote:That's assuming all parents are responsible enough to introduce alcohol in this way. In reality, do you think removing the age gate and allowing children to buy drinks is the best way to combat alcoholism among young people?
Now, there might be good reason to remove or lower the legal age, but to argue that young people should be introduced to alcohol that way or a similar way because 'the positives outweigh the negatives' is just illogical nonsense.
