I wasn't ignoring you. Dealing with (deserved) criticism happens internally with me, and over a couple of days. Whenever someone criticises me, at first, I think they're an asshole for a few days. Then, later, I realise they're right and it makes me feel better to acknowledge it. I guess the whole step of self-reflection takes some time to process with me.
But yeah, the whole mentioning cultural differences thing is playing the lazy card, but I must admit that it's with surprising frequency that Americans and I can just not communicate on the same level as I do with other Europeans. It's nothing personal, but we just completely misunderstand each others' intentions about eighty percent of the time, and end up squabbling over what we were in fact agreeing on. I noticed this before my holiday to Canada, too, so it's not just that.
