I may be able to help you a bit with this. But I need some information:THEdragon wrote:+ Well I just ended up successfully uploading it in two parts. But I will take a look at Handbrake, perhaps to at least reduce the filesize of my .avi files
I've tried recording with compressors, but some make the background go pixellated and others make the emulator lag very badly.
- Which recording software are you using?
- What is the resolution of your screen/game while you are recording?
- What is the format or your video file after the session (I'm asking but I guess it's probably .avi)?
- Which video-making software are you using?
- What are the usual settings you are usually using in it (like 720p/480p/whatever, and 20/25/30/60fps)?
- Which rendering settings are you using?
If you are uploading the video on YT, best rendering settings are usually 720p/30fps, but it will change soon (I heard YT is preparing 1080p and 60fps somewhere). MP4 format is also pretty good as it is not too heavy to render and to upload. But sometimes you will have to play with your settings if your original video files/project is not in the same category, as the time required for your rendering to be completed is really impacted if there are a lot of differences between video/project/rendering parameters.
Having softwares which can convert .avi to smaller format like MP4 is good, because .avi are fucking heavy (like, 1GB/min for 720p/30fps, and even more for bigger resolutions). Having a recording software which can do it at the same time is even better, because it will usually be designed to convert .avi into easier-to-use formats. Of course, if you don't have one like that, softwares like SUPER are good to convert files to the format you want them, but I don't really know if it is more or less efficient than an equivalent function available into a recording software.
If you aren't sure your video will be good, then render only 2/3 minutes of it as a sample and take a look at it. It should be more efficient that way as you will be able to see if you screwed it up somewhere or if it's good enough for you to render the entire video.Electoon wrote:The other annoying one is waiting about 30-45 minutes for a video to render, only to find that the compression is really lousy, and you've wasted your time. -_-

-/+ trying to find a job as I just graduated (kinda). But focusing on big companies is not helping: most of them are asking for very high-caliber resumes and already-existing professional experience, which is something a "beginner" doesn't have.
+ Some offers seem okay for me.
+ I'm lazy to apply directly tonight so I'm posting on RPC to compensate XD.
