Re: Rayman Headcanons
Yeah, has some unpleasant implications, doesn't it?
Speaking of which, does anyone have good screenshots of the different raygnomes?
And don't you dare even think I'm leaving this post without another headcanon.
Mr Skops used to have two claws, but lost one in an accident. For a limbless being, of course, this would mean that the claw was injured to the point of no longer being functional and was dumped.

I'd like to imagine there's a Skops claw hanging out in a cave somewhere still clasping around itself angrily, searching for innocent prey.

Re: Rayman Headcanons
Maybe that's how Hades' Hand started out!
Re: Rayman Headcanons
See, that's the scary part about the limbless beings of the Valley. Their body parts can separate and it's really weird. Imagine you're sitting at the bottom of a hill on a pleasant sunny day having a picnic, when suddenly a disembodied head rolls down the hill and lands beside you, then looks at you and says "Sorry, this sometimes happens when I sneeze a little too hard."

But in the life of the Glade, you'd just laugh, shrug it off, and if you're a nice guy, carry the head back to the body. And if you're a dick, kick it down the hill further while laughing some more. "So long sucker!"
Re: Rayman Headcanons
Hahaha, oh dear! Better down a hill than down the side of one of the Blue Mountains, I suppose.
I've had this headcanon for a while now, I suppose I should share it.
Rayman's species grows with age differently to humans. Mainly that they grow to full height very quickly. That's why the baby at Mr Stone's peaks is more than half the size of its mother despite probably being no older than two years old (Or its species equivalent).

Re: Rayman Headcanons
Speaking of aging, I'm inclined to think that Lividstones grow limbs when they get older. Think about it, in Rayman 1 we see young ones attacking using their detached hands, but the older ones don't. Maybe the ones in Origins are older again (we don't see any young ones!).
Re: Rayman Headcanons
Hm, that's quite an interesting theory. I personally don't know how to account for the sudden limb-having of previously limbless characters in Origins, except that maybe the livingstones of the Valley are just different to the livingstones of the not-valley, like how there are a few variations of fairy in the Glade.

Wait... You think Small Lividstones are children? I always thought they were dwarfs.PluMGMK wrote:Speaking of aging, I'm inclined to think that Lividstones grow limbs when they get older. Re: Rayman Headcanons
x'D that made me laugh more than anything has in a while! Thank you for this ahahah
And maybe that explains Rayman being the only one of his kind left in existence: he's still incredibly young - or rather - has some heks on him that prevents him from aging (did he sneak a little sip of the Elixir of Life when he was in the Marshes?). The others, the ones from the first game; they're not gone. They've just grown older, their nose elongating, their backs hunching a little... spiral patterns forming on their noses... limbs growing on...
they've become Teensies!
That's pretty interesting. So with age, their full range of 'hand-flight' becomes more and more restricted as their body is starting to develop microscopic hand cells and then one day POOF arms. Or more like straws. Maybe they get really sick and have to withdraw into their homes during their metamorphosis and afterwards they come out and have arms. Perhaps there's a whole subculture of sex appeal going on there. "Hey look at who grew arms last week!" "Jimmy's so lucky. I'm two years older than he is and I can't get my arms to form more than a fuzzy metaphysical blur of substantial electron clouds." "Yeah that sucks. Fuck Physics. Jim's gonna get all the girls!"PluMGMK wrote:Speaking of aging, I'm inclined to think that Lividstones grow limbs when they get older. Eh, I always thought the small livingstones were children.
To be honest, I don't really like the idea of the limbless beings gaining limbs as they grow older. Shrooblord's post did amuse me a lot, though!

Yes, how dare you have your own opinion, you fucking dork.rolesfamily wrote:Is it bad that I still seriously hate the term 'headcanons' ?
Re: Rayman Headcanons
I think I'm nearing the point where my headcanons outnumber the actual content of the Rayman 1 universe.

Re: Rayman Headcanons
Well, I suppose it could be that Livingstones are the true inhabitants, who have no limbs and are normally good but got corrupted during Rayman 1 (and spinoffs), while Lividstones are nightmares, with limbs, that appeared during Origins based on Polokus' memories of what happened to the real ones before.
