Did this walkthrough/deathless run of a game that's been brought up a few times on here lately, Outlast, on Insane mode with all the notes and documents, so let me know what you guys think:

This was somewhat tricky to pull off, since your health is significantly lower than when on Normal difficulty, with many enemies including Chris Walker one-hit-killing you (in case you don't know, this is the enemy that appears most frequently throughout the game, so, ye, fuck). Not too bad, but to the point where basically any stupid mistake is going to result in a game over.

Also have a version with a real-time commentary track that's uploading right now if anyone wants to hear me grumbling 'n' shit while playing. :)

Did this thing in Sculptris the other day. I'm really quite proud of it. http://33.media.tumblr.com/b5ad5ecc89f5 ... 1_1280.png

Yup, i saw that one. It's great (although of course the hair are not top-notch, but whatever, that's not the most important part).
You managed to respect what you drew for the ears. I guess it wasn't that easy to replicate, was it? I haven't tried Sculptris yet. Spending your time trying any kind of software is quite time-consuming XD.

I've used Sculptris before! First thing I made with it was this. Everything after that was just random junk.

I find it weird how all of the sculptures have that weird seam running down their middle. Looking good, Gwee!

That's the line of symmetry, it disappears if the symmetry is disabled. :)

For the rest of the month I will draw ANYTHING you request! Fire away, or my artistic talent will wither away and die!

Yeah, the hair wasn't easy. Sculptris doesn't really do hair, unfortunately. Everything else was relatively easy I guess, but yeah, it is time consuming.

I still haven't worked out how to properly make hair using hair particles in Blender. :confus:

I find it amusing how hair is one of the most obnoxiously tricky things to get to look right. The devs over at Unreal wish, under their breath, for a day where all their main characters don't have dreadlocks. xD

I have always been impressed by the level of detail that Square Enix put into their characters' hair for every single game they created. Sure, it looks really anime-ish, but my gosh how many hair you can see move!

Anyone living in Montpellier or have lived in Montpellier in the past? I'm wondering how the housing marketing is there and what's required for residency over there, and just generally what it's like. The reason I'm asking is I might want to live there someday should I land a career with Ubisoft Montpellier.

I used to live close to Montpellier, it's a fun city to be around. You should love it. However, you should probably find a house close to the city itself because other town in the region (Alès, Nîmes) have the reputation to be somewhat racist, and it is very tough to gain trust of the locals in villages, especially up the mountains (the Cévènnes, which I still highly recommand for the landscape).

One thing you have to consider is a very particular meteorological event called l'autômne cévenol (The Autumn in the Cévènnes) : the whole region is usually subjected to massive floods in mid-september. It hit very hardly Alès, but also Montpellier this year (but to a lesser extent).

Pirez answered mainly about how it is to live in Montpellier.

About housing marketing (I'll focus on Montpellier):
It is located in the south/south east of France, very close to the Mediterranean Sea. As a matter of fact, prices can sometimes get ridiculously high, as it is the region where people like to live after they retire, or go during summer holidays. I would recommend to avoid going too far in the south of Montpellier for this reason, and probably to avoid downtown. Try to find something in the close suburbs of the city so you are not too far away from it and will have to drive and buy a car (but you will probably have to, in the contrary of bigger cities like Marseille/Lyon/Paris). Besides, I don't think the Ubisoft site is too close to downtown. More in an activity zone a few kilometers away from downtown, but in this case they will have a bus for it :).

About residency:
Unless you are applying for a location very close to a protected site (UNESCO-like thingy), it will be the same as for anywhere else in France. I don't eactly know the details, but I guess French embassies in the US will help you a lot considering that matter. Besides, if one day Ubisoft happens to hire you, they will have something ready for that, you won't be their first 'foreigner' XD.
Mmh, anyway, residency is a bit like that:
- Residency VISA.
- Work certificate.
- Health insurance.
- Complementary insurance.

This is the basic stuff. For housing:
- If you are renting, the lease.
- If you bought, the purchase contract.
- Housing insurance.
- Water/Electricity/Gas bills.
- City/Country taxes.

Well, not that different from the US...French people are maybe more formal about papers, and to avoid cheating, filling all of them and not having issues is really a pain in the ass (already for the French).

Well, it's up to you, but be sure to come well-prepared if you want to avoid bad surprises ;).

Baguette.
