< Is maybe gonna draw some halloween stuff too. One is for one of <'s tumblr blogs and another is just for the spooks.

< is intrigued by what Droolie found and will check out this free subscription to Unreal. Following their stream updates, < thought that would only be possible if your lecturuer would get you licenses (which isn't quite the curricular expense my field of study would apply for).

< studies Computer Science, so Unreal Engine isn't quite part of <'s curriculum either. Still, < got it is loving it so far! It's very fast and very beautiful, and it runs better on <'s laptop than both Unreal Engine 3 and CryEngine. < might have to create something with it!

Interesting, because UE4 runs worse for < than CE does. Not by much though. Also not inplying with <'s choice of words that either run poorly, < is very happy with what UE4 is doing. Now we just need fucking Source to follow suite so it isn't using a map editor with an interface dating back to and having not been improved since 1998.

What was Source again? Isn't that the thing that, among others, the Hidden and Garry's Mod were made in, that has terrible physics, graphics and user input handling (empirical evidence is abundant)?

Has ^ tried out the latest version? It seems to run much faster now than when < first tried out UE4.

Source is Valve's engine, that's what all their games run on ranging from Half-Life 2 to TF2, and from Portal to Left 4 Dead. The SourceSDK is open to the public and you could technically make a full game in it, though it isn't commercial, as it's technically still a modSDK for their games.

Source was the first engine < used, in 2006.

< has never seen that happen tbh. Then again, < has never tried to abuse the physics system to the extent that many GModders surely do.
Also, < was of course joking about the "watch your mouth" bit. Though <'s inner patriot is slightly mad about bashing of Dublin-developed physics – nvm XD.
