EYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Comparing GoT to AOT is a bit mean to GoT.dartofthedavros wrote:Yeah, it's practically Japan's Game Of Thrones. Surprisingly I've never been told the ending of AoT, and I probably don't want to know it either.

Re: Anime
I guess I don't really need to watch it then, because quite frankly, pretty animation and badass fight scenes aren't exactly a selling point of an anime for me, unless it doesn't be pretentious and try to shoe horn tragic stories with bland characters and stuff in. Pretty animation and badass fights scenes are basically something I expect in an anime as standard (well, the latter only applies to an anime that is supposed to have fighting).

Re: Anime
I'd still say watch the first couple of episodes, and see if you want to continue from there. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's an anime that's at least worth a try.

Re: Anime
I got a minor spoiler for FMA: Brotherhood while looking for the opening songs, and when I watched the next episode I was up to I found out what got spoiled for me. So whatever, now I know nowhere is safe, even the Youtube videos themselves!

Re: Anime
Ok sorry for the double post but,
I just finished Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Wow. That's all I can say. It is without a doubt one of the best shows I have had the pleasure of watching and has left me with that 'What do I do with my life now?' feeling after completing it. If there are any other shows, anime or otherwise that anyone knows of that are at this level of quality (i.e Avatar quality) then please inform me now.

Re: Anime
Im not sure if this counts as "anime" or most of you have seen it, (given most of you are not from America or live here) but I was curious to know what your thoughts were on The Boondocks. To be more specific Season 4. There was a bit of controversy surrounding the season for the main and head writer Aaron Mcgruder was not involved and most thought the season would be bad. Which (Unfortunately) most did. However most thought it was bad for there was little comedy involved and was more serious and story aimed. I thought this was a good route given the show did connect with the people. (Well the people who understood the satire.) And was the most truthful (In terms of biblical philosophy and philosophy in general, Exposing the truth about the wealthy ruling class, and even touching upon how most American are consumed by reality tv and Iphones.) But I think most would disagree given most watch The Boondocks for the comedy. I guess whatever bring in the ratings. (Ironic given a show like this) But what do you all who have seen it think about season 4?
Re: Anime
Never watched Boondocks so I can't talk about it. Sorry.

Re: Anime
I highly recommend it, it's funny, clever, beautiful to look at, and overall just a ton of fun. A couple of episodes were a bit weak, but it was still a great series. I just hope Bones gets to make the Space Dandy movie they want to do.
Re: Anime
I have been watching Sword Art Online since 2 days ago when I have time. All I have to say is that it is so far great anime. I like that gaming is the main aspect of it. I have not finish it yet but still, I highly recommend it to all gamers to watch it.

Huge thanks to the guy who uploaded my childhood
Re: Anime
Started watching this season recently!
Re: Anime
Never watched this season because for some reason, Pokemon seems to be one of the few Anime hard to find on Japanese on internet, except for earliest seasons. Could it be that Pokemon Anime fanbase is small compared to other Anime fanbases so that people don't contribute in subtitling and uploading episodes for it? I know Pokemon fanbase is mainly game focused but first time I searched for Pokemon Japanese dub, I had even trouble finding where to watch any episode. Can't even find RAW footage without subtitles. Didn't expect that.
Re: Anime
Does anybody here know some way I can watch the Studio Ghibli film, Only Yesterday, without having to import a DVD copy from a different country? I live in the US, so Disney is responsible for the majority of Ghibli releases, however, they refuse to release Only Yesterday over here for unknown reasons. The only way for me to legitimately view it is to import the subtitled DVD release from the UK. In my case, I always find a website that streams Ghibli films before I buy them, and if I end up liking the movie I go out and buy a legitmate copy, to support the creators, however I cannot seem to find a website that streams the entirety of Only Yesterday or has it available for download. Thus, I turn to you RPC members for any suggestions on where to view this movie. My intention is to buy a legitmate copy, I just want to see if the movie is any good before wasting money on an import.
