Taking that into account, the longer you have to put up with it, the more you're able to figure out in regards to how it affects you and how you should react. The most important thing is to remember that even if it doesn't end in a year from now, it still is only very temporary. I guarantee you'll feel more confident every year, even if it does bother you just as much as it used to - why shouldn't it? You know what they're doing wrong, and "wrong" won't ever change for you - but just because it is bothersome doesn't mean it should consume your whole mental space. I say it'll get better each year not because your relationship might, but because as you become more independant, you'll more than likely start to recognise more of what's outside the door, what you have going for you, what you can offer yourself and others. At that point, the negative, nonsensical blabber you receive will be put a bit more into perspective, and you honestly won't care as much.
In my own case, it still bothers me and I'll have moments where I lose it a bit, but compared to before, I feel like I've moved a step closer to getting a complete hold of my emotions. I won't focus on specific events for as long; I've gotten used to thinking about them and filtering out what I genuinely don't think of as valid and cast it in the same light as a retarded YouTube comment, and as a result, I'm not as upset.
