Re: The You Game!
All 5 books of H2G2 are <'s favorite books (and some of the only books < has read, but the point is < thinks the story's good, not just reading it)
< also hasn't seen past Matt Smith's Doctor Who run, but < thought it was quite good. < also wonders what x, notably ^'s and ^^'s opinions where of MS and the current doctor.

< doesn't understand what ^ refers to with MS, but < is enjoying Peter Capaldi quite a bit.

Re: The You Game!
< assumes ^^ refers to Matt Smith when stating MS. < preferred Matt Smith over David Tennant, but < feels David's run was more consistent on average in terms of goodness. Matt Smith's Series 5 run was spectacular, though Series 6 and 7 did have a few stories that < isn't really fond of, and < does feel that some of the overarching plot lines of his era weren't well concluded, but other than that, he was a great Doctor.
As for Capaldi, < thinks he's <'s new favourite, ^^ will probably find his Doctor to be quite a contrast to Smith, but stick by him, < thinks ^^ won't regret it.
To explain the Douglas Adams connection, he was involved with Doctor Who in the 70s.

Re: The You Game!
< was referring to Matt Smith with MS, and < must agree with ^. < liked MS more than Tennant, but < mainly watched DW for the humor, and also for the mystery and creepiness (like the episode with the liquid flesh and the dream world one). < likes creepy, wired stuff like that, and is a major reason why < likes Rayman 2 so much, because of its creepiness and surreal abstract theme.
< will probably give Capaldi a good watch, it just seems funny to < that it's him, and would expect him to just swear all the time

Re: The You Game!
< has been away due to moving into a new house the family and < bought. We're still not finished. <'s room, as well as the others, are in shambles because the furniture is not yet organized. < will be busy again this week putting everything in order.

Re: The You Game!
< is pleasantly surprised that the Doctor Who crew won't write off extras in becoming lead/support roles in the series later on. <'s seen plenty of extras become companions... and now... one of them is the Doctor!

I'm kidding, naturally.

Re: The You Game!
As < mentioned on the French forum, < is rather amused by this comic, which resembles my own situation quite a bit: http://peppertop.com/elvie/comic/elvie-004/incognito wrote:Arrrh, use Débian, Ubuntu is shit.
Re: The You Game!
< meant Ubuntu is fine, but if you want to do something advenced its like Windows.
< think debian is the best linux distro.
Why ?
Because it is the biggest ehhh branch ? Of linux: plus it is stable and customizable.
But for novices < think Ubuntu is fine.

Re: The You Game!
To be honest, < cannot really handle anything but Windows since it's the only line of OS's < has ever used. < did actually have a form of Linux on a notebook once, but it wasn't very good.
< has used OSx on a friend's computer, but < really hated it.

Re: The You Game!
< had to get used to some aspects of the Mac OS when < switched over, but < hasn't run into any troubles (obvious compatibility quirks aside) with the machine since. Yesterday was the first time this thing crashed in six years and it wasn't even a hard crash, more of a 'you need to kill an application now' crash.

Re: The You Game!
The main reason < doesn't like mac osx is because of it's compatibility. <'s friend on steam couldn't play with the rest of <'s friends most of the time, because he had a mac. He has windows now though.
The actual OS interface and that isn't too bad I guess, though some things are complicated in <'s opinion

Re: The You Game!
< uses Mac OS X. < says that compatibility isn't too much problem, < can use Wine or download the game's unofficial made ports.

Re: The You Game!
While it's true that a lot of games weren't made to run on Macs, some newer games have started being created on universal platforms that allow Mac users to play them too. < doesn't care too much, though the biggest hit for < was that < is now unable to play <'s favourite gaming franchise, pretty much - at least R2 still runs on this laptop.

Re: The You Game!
^^ Yeah he said he used virtual machines but < thinks it was a bit of a hassle for him, and if you're going to get a virtual PC might as well get a real one
^ my friend's favorite game is WoT so it was really annoying for him. < can just chill with his PC though
