They better announce patch for Wii U and 3DS to be region free. Why would Iwata suddenly talk about regions out of nowhere? He did establish last year that there are no plans to make either console region free so why would he bring that up again for nothing?

There's nothing at the moment that I really want to import yet, so I don't see the big deal.
I'm hoping to hear more about Xenoblade Chronicles X as I'm really looking forward to that title.

I would mostly want it for general importing even if game is not Japan exclusive since it is more convenient for me to order from Japan. There is also voice acting factor for some games (like Smash Bros) and right now, I need to play Japanese games more than ever to improve my reading of Hiragana and Katakana.

Same here man, I own Majoras Mask on my N64 but the only reason why I didn't play it was because I knew it was eventually going to get a 3D remake, and here it is.

I'm actually REALLY surprised we didn't hear any info regarding Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in this direct.

A Sonic Boom demo is available on 3DS eShop, my view of Sonic Boom right now is REALLY low so I'll give my impressions after playing and we'll see if anything changes...

To my surprise, it was alright! The game really encourages exploration, and I like to see that in a Sonic game, it has a metroid-vania feel to it.
In all honesty the extra characters are just so unnecessary, it really just ruins the pace when you have to stop and switch to another character. It's really nice how the game manages to have a decent emphasis on speed (This doesn't come close to Generations speed or anything), and both exploration at the same time. The submarine minigame was fucking stupid, not fun. The game also unfortunately runs at 30fps on 3DS, which is weird, the game REALLY looks capable of 60, the background in one of the levels featured on the demo looks incredibly low quality, as if they just took a low quality jpeg image and threw it on there.

Gameplay wise though, it's actually to my surprise, pretty fucking good, it has a decent emphasis on speed, doesn't go too fast, really encourages the player to explore. There was also an on rails section where Sonic runs forward while you control left or right, I've always felt these levels were just ridiculous filters for Sonic games, why can't I be in full control? Otherwise it was an okay level but nothing special.

Overall it was quite okay, but my hopes for the Wii U version are still REALLY low. Definetly not something I care to get on launch, but i'm interested in seeing how the Wii U version will turn out. 3DS Sonic Boom I'll probably pick up when it gets a massive price drop, but at best, it's okay.

I don't have a 3DS and I'm probably not going to play Majora's Mask 3D (I already played the original), but I have to say that MM3D trailer was amazing. It captured the essence of Majora's Mask perfectly. You'd expect a trailer to show a lot of gameplay and some story, but the emphasis was instead on the world and time. It starts with a few views of the beautifully upgraded and atmospheric/eerie places, and quickly goes to a view of a clock. The clock advances and advances throughout Clock Town, until there's a bell. It is then day 2, and the people realize the end is nigh. The get nervous, as should the viewer, with the agitated music. Day 3. Without any words, various scenes are shown of bad things happening in all corners of Termina, all under the gaze of the moon, shown very quickly at various points in the video, as if you were quickly checking how high it is to have a sense of how much time there is left. And with this threat in the sky, there is the feeling that some of these bad things are inevitable - you can't save everyone. It then ends with a taste of all the creepiness in the game. Just watch it:

It's simply perfect! Whoever directed this trailer is a genius.

I love that they're really focusing on presenting Majora exactly like they did with the original game. I actually thought Majora could possibly not be getting a remake simply because it's so different from anything released in the Zelda franchise since. Really hope I can save up money and purchase it on day one.

That updated design for the Moon is absolutely fucking terrifying. They went all-out.

I really wish they would remake the music though. I always found it very awkward to hear MIDI playing along to what's clearly an modern version.

Oh so they didn't change it. I was trying to notice some difference or update but I guess it's just ported right over. It's not bad, but the music feels a little outdated instrumentally. I'd love an update similar to how they changed the Wind Waker soundtrack.
