Re: Rayman 3
I dunno if mine would be glitched but I kinda don't want to go back and see.
Re: Rayman 3
It only happens when you finish the Armaguiddon phase of the Tower of the Leptys. With me it happened two followed times but I managed to pass in the third attempt. I just like how no patch was released to fix this.beebo44 wrote:Yea I bought R3 HD a while back, blissfully unaware. I never got around to finishing it (I got to Summit Beyond The Clouds) but knowing the game breaking bugs it suffers from makes me fearful to even try. x)

Meh, PC version will always be more HD than PSN and XBLA versions

Which pretty much says it all on how much a shambles these remakes are.

Re: Rayman 3
Ah thanks for the clarification there! And yea it seems like Ubisoft just wanted some more money so they half-assed a remake and forgot about it.Haruka wrote:It only happens when you finish the Armaguiddon phase of the Tower of the Leptys. Re: Rayman 3
Now even more with RibShark's patch for widescreen. Clearly, if you would have told I would be able to play R3 in real 1080p on PC a few weeks ago, I wouldn't have believed you.OldClassicGamer wrote:Meh, PC version will always be more HD than PSN and XBLA versions

Can't stress this enough, though we're lacking an R3 modding community... perhaps one day.OldClassicGamer wrote:Meh, PC version will always be more HD than PSN and XBLA versions
Re: Rayman 3
The thing is that the original R3 for PC is way better than the console versions. (Yeah, the SHIT-DEFINITION of R3HD.) What else can we do to make the game way better? We already have a Widescreen patch, I don't know, levels created by the community?

There's not much we can do at present without modding, but here's hoping. I'd be pretty intrigued about Rayman 2 being brought over for instance.

HEY HEY HEY EVERYONE!
Do you remember me? I am the guy who didn't have Rayman 3 working... When I told you about the missing textures...
Finally found ubi.ini, it was on Windows folder and not Rayman 3 folder! I changed TnL=1 to TnL=0
But the screen was sooooo small, I restarted my pc and it now perfectly working, YEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Finally, I am able to play Rayman 3

Re: Rayman 3
I don't see the problem with all the console releases. I have to say I enjoyed the PS2 version more than the PC version. I guess it's because I grew up with that version (with the charm of sitting in a comfy sofa, using the in-my-opinion great controller) and I can't get used to the up close look or the controls of the PC version.
Any other game and I'd pick PC though, I like Rayman 2 on PC more than revolution (not because of the choppiness or gameplay, just because of the feel of it) probably because I grew up with that too.

Re: Rayman 3
I don't think I've ever been able to experience that 'charm of sitting on a sofa' thing for console games, because my eyesight if awful, and I've always ended up sitting on the floor right in front of the TV, which, back then, was a small CRT propped up on a shelf. Now my TV is right beside my bed so that isn't a problem anymore, but it's still no match for sitting obliquely in a nice, comfy wheely chair with a stool to lay my feet on and my hands rested completely limp wherever I want on the desk, my fingers able to reach a million different buttons with no effort. You actually have to hold a gamepad!

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah, I love PC much more than console usually, I just think R3 runs particularly well with a PS2 controller...
Also, I was literally just playing R3 and found a... glitch?
In "The Tower of the Leptys" there's a bit where you have to climb up some pillars that move up and down, and there are a few lock jaw hooks.
In the middle is a wired floating piece of metal, 2 in fact, that look more like they belong on the side of a wall or a box than floating mid-air for no reason. They also have no collision detection.
I could have swore I saw the exact same thing on the PC version when I played it about a year ago, but took no notice... Now finding it here is just wired. Looking up "Tower of the Leptys glitches" and other such things yielded no results...
Here is a bad quality video of what I am on about:
Video
(sorry for the shite quality and gameplay, I had to record it on an iPad stuffed between my legs the whole time...)
I can also cast shadows on it, and it's not a solid object; it's just hollow on the other side, but it still has the same textures as the front...
So what the hell is it?
Edit:
Sorry for using such a dodgy site, there are some... strange... videos on there.

Re: Rayman 3
As far as I can tell, it does have some kind of weird collision detection, I noticed it many years ago. They probably tried to put a platform in there and made a mistake in taking it out when they changed their minds. Then when the game was being ported from platform to platform none of the devs noticed it.

Re: Rayman 3
Well what about this other glitch I found but minutes after the first one?

If you can't see, the lockjaw can is about 3 feet away from the concentric circles that radiate off it. It was again taken with the iPad, so the perspective's funny and it looks closer, but the rings are actually a bit further away. Touching either the rings or the can both grant me lockjaw power.

Now that I haven't seen before. Was the console overheating or anything silly like that?

Re: Rayman 3
I don't think so, it feels room-temperature.
Anyway I'm really happy because I just finished Rayman 3 for the first time in my life. Years ago I got to the last boss twice but never beat him.
Same with R2, I got to the last boss and never beat him... Time to do that I guess.
