Rayman fan game

Post by talanor »

Hello,

just monitoring the possible interest that this might have:
  • Who would be interested in the making of a sequel for rayman 2 with the Admiral Razorbeard and his mighty pirates?
  • If you were interested, on what platform would you play it?
  • Would you participate in the project?
  • If yes, how could you (code, music, graphics, storyline other)?
  • Would you mind if this sequel was open-source?
  • In the event that an actual mock up is released, would you participate financially the development of the game?
I am, for my part, a developper, and a huge fan of rayman (when he is not accompanied by rabbits / particularly the great escape).
I am not commiting to anything, making a sequel is a thought that has been in my mind for quite a while now, and I just wanted to know if that was the same for some other people.

Hi btw!

I'm interested for doing it.
I would play it on PC, PS1,N64.
I would!
I'm pretty bad in game coding though, I can make storyline and graphics.
I love open sources.
I don't have any money!

Great! What could you do for the graphics? 2d (texturing & co)? 3d (animation, modelisation)?

I find it funny that people always mention this in particular right up-front when they want to join a project.

I don't really know, tbh, I'm not really that good in that, I just want to help, in any ways :/

Well you could indeed review the storyline and comment it, as anyone else. My idea would be to gather a team that would throw suggestions, make a draft, and publish it for reviews.

=) Yea well, I suppose that is what people that want to participate in projects do when then can't participate in any other way. No harm done there ;)

Nope I don't, and I don't want to. Mail / instant chat (IRC mostly) are my favorite ways of communication. On IRC, you can find me on freenode under the same nickname. If you prefer by mail, pm me.
If this project is to be started somehow, it is obvious that team meetings can't take place on IRC. But I'd prefer them to take place on google hangouts rather than skype.
