Re: The SPORE topic
I can appreciate that, but, I don't know, it feels rather lacklustre, I'd like it so that Civilisation stage played out in segments, you'd have a town stage, where you begin to make your own settlement, a city stage, where the town expands, a country stage, where you battle against various others in order to take over an entire country mass, then finally the civilisation stage as it is.
Re: The SPORE topic
I'd like that too. The game goes way too fast, its like they hurried to finish it this way.

Re: The SPORE topic
Concurred, though I think it was more a difference in views, the iteration I showed seems very complete indeed, and that was in 2005, yet the game itself didn't come out 'til '08, if memory serves.

Double posting, here's a retrospective from one of the game's developers: http://www.designer-notes.com/?p=654
Re: The SPORE topic
Did a livestream two days ago with Keane and DLL. Saved some parts of it and uploaded it to youtube because why not.
Gave it balls, made its legs freaky, gave it a big head, made its back legs arms, met a cucumber thing made by Maxis (lol?) and Yoshi in the middle of nowhere.

Re: The SPORE topic
I'm assuming you did this when I was asleep, hm? I wouldn't willingly miss this.
Re: The SPORE topic
Indeed you were, I might do one earlier in the day instead of doing these so late next time.

Re: The SPORE topic
Well, Spore is on sale on Steam, you can get it for less than £5 at present, I've finally gotten it for myself.
Re: The SPORE topic
Spore's on Steam now? Oh great. I bought the full game when it came out, probably could've saved some dosh.Master wrote:Well, Spore is on sale on Steam, you can get it for less than £5 at present, I've finally gotten it for myself.

Re: The SPORE topic
Meh, I held off the retail version because of the whole DRM thing, the Steam version uses Steam's DRM, not EA's, so I went with it instead.

Got Galactic Adventures too? Definite, definite definite recommend if you even so much as slightly like Spore.
And if you've got it... check out my adventure 'Sundown'...!

Re: The SPORE topic
Downloaded it, but I can't play it, unfortunately. Can't seem to add you as a buddy either.
Re: The SPORE topic
Ah, better playing it later than never! I also definitely recommend you to get the Galactic Adventures expansion, or else you'll be bored of the Space Stage after a while. I also created a Rayman-alike mission at the time so consider as an invitation to check it out if you ever get it. If you are into creature building, it is good to consider getting the Creepy and Cute pack.

Yeah, could you link me to your profile? I was searching for you on Spore, but didn't find you.
Re: The SPORE topic
I believe my name in the game is HarukaTavares.

Re: The SPORE topic
Wait, what? That sucks. :/
I'll see if I can somehow access my old account again and see if I can re-upload. I've always meant for people to enjoy the little story I created, but it seems it never really reached anyone.
EDIT:
Just booted SPORE for the first time on this new system. The memories! The nostalgia! I'm gonna start creating some Adventures again.
Anyway - I just tried to add you too, Master, but can't. Maybe the in-game buddy system is bust. Can you go to the online sporepedia in your web browser and link me through to your account profile, 'cause I can't find you there, either. And about the Adventure, if all else fails, there should be a way for me to transfer it over to you so you can manually import it into your game. But first, I'm going to install all patches and expansions to see if I can find it myself i.e. download and play it from my own cloud yes or no.

Re: The SPORE topic
Since then, I was able to add you as a buddy, but I still can't play the adventure, it's in my Sporepedia, and I can edit it, but that's it.

Re: The SPORE topic
Does it say anything when you try to play it? I'll take a look at it myself if I get this Mac support thing figured out. It may have been exceeding the Complexity metre somehow.
EDIT:
Oh I see you don't have the Creepy and Cute expansion pack. That may be why.

Re: The SPORE topic
It does have a padlock icon, could very well be the case.
