I found them really frustrating but that's probably a mere consequence of how much I sucked at them .

I think I even got the million Lums in Legends but there's no way I was ever gonna for the last level of awesomeness, it would have taken me months of daily challenge grinding, no thanks.
getting awesomeness lvl 11 (was it I think) isn't very time consuming, if you play on console not pc and like speed based games.
But yeah, it's not something you can speed up.
Also, I can stand grinding if it's for a personal goal. Like a specific score. Trophies/achievements... never.
On top of that, never ever trophy hunt a game that has grinding. I only once did a trophy hunt (Tetris Effect), NEVER again.

I used to love doing the challenges every day. They focused the mind, while distracting me from my problems, and allowing me to spend ages looking at an artstyle that I loved. Even though I eventually stopped (for reasons I no longer understand), it breaks my heart to think that they're gone (at least on PC).
you can manually set seeds or use training room mod.
getting seeds from on going challenges is something that is possible, but not to a degree that it can be shared :/
I could imagine you can have friends, write them a seed and challenge your friends on it.

To be honest, I think Origins is better anyway. I liked the art style more, and I think the speed trophies were more challenging than the invaded levels. I actually like that there are no movement tricks in Origins too, because while the ones in Legends are cool, they get manipulated a lot. I think it's better that Origins only allows the one mid air kick which slows people down so that the times are much more fair. In a way, Origins is less broken.

Yeah imo they were more challenging. Likely because speed flow is lower in origins.
As in, you lose speed more easily. And origin had longer time trails.
the community goal in Legends for all under 30-29-28-27 seconds would definitely change difficulty though :p
edit: as you updated your words. Break/Brake boost is a thing in origins as well. which helps a lot in essentially making them easy. There are tricks in origins, just less. Rayman Legends, yeah the speed flow makes a lot possible. it's fun if you love flow with quick movement.

Well, I must suck at it, because I never got a single platinum cup, and I found gold cups really hard to get, so you can imagine how long it would take if you're left with silver and bronze cups only.

Gold cups are enough to get it in a reasonable time. Silver and Bronze, yeah that might take a bit.
It does depend on what console you played on. It's not the same difficulty everywhere. ps3 usually had less dense top players, ps vita the least and so on.
Idk where you played on :p

on release date? oof ok yeah that can be tough lol.
Coop challenges would secure you a low spot and since strategies aren't clear, you wouldn't know how to be fast.
I thought a bit later in time

I thought the challenges became harder with time as people learned new techniques and got a lot better?

Depends on the game and how much I like it, some games are a nightmare to complete at 100%.

I agree. Some games are long, but that's fine if you're enjoying the game. Some games on the other hand are just way too tedious to obtain 100% completion in. It's even worse when the game has things you can miss which means you'd have to start the entire game again just to obtain 100% completion.

Legends is one I never did because of the challenges being a bit too tedious for me. They're fun for some time, but there's a lot of grinding, and the people who play it at this stage are all really good with all the tricks, so trying to get a diamond cup is almost out of the question for an average player.

That's exactly how I feel about it, though I sound kinda stupid every time I mention it to a skilled Legends player.

I have gotten a couple of them, but they're really hard for me, and it usually takes me ages just to get one. Sometimes I even miss them by a few milliseconds and can't make up the extra time.

Tetris Effect is imo worse.
Nothing is worse than completing everything and ALL THAT IS LEFT IS PRESSING ONE BUTTON 1 MILLION TIMES
OML I will never forget the stupidity of this.
Have you ever heard about Desert Bus ? It's literally a game where you need to tap left button continiously for 8 hours straight, without pause button. Now that's what i call stupidity

Isn't that the game that mimics an irl roud trip with a truck on one of the longest rouds in USA? Yeah senseless game meant to be stupid.
Tetris Effect wasn't build to be that though x3.
There are many grindy games and I think grinding achievements are very stupid.
lvl 11 awesomeness is stupid too.

I remember this game on a NES clone named Helli Mission (Helli was a typo for Heli as in Helicopter), where all you had to do was press a button to make the helicopter rise, and release it to have it descend. The helicopter would move to the right by itself, and you had to avoid obstacles by rising and descending, and the score would constantly clock up until you collided with something. It was almost like Flappy Bird, except you hold the button instead of tapping.
I thought this was bad until I heard about Desert Bus.
PS: It for some reason had music that was a rip off of Lemmings, but it sounded good.
