I want Razorbeard to eat Andre. Then he'd be able to turn red lums into black ones with a touch. Maybe he'd speak with both of their voices, too.

It could be that Razorbeard ate the red André in such a horrific fashion that André turned balck in the process.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
I think Razorbeard should eat the black André; if he ate the red one (who then turned black after being swallowed, or something) it would be a confusing for most people. The black André needs to appear; they needn't explain how he was corrupted again. Razorbeard could eat him by accident, like Globox did. Or delibirately, to gain his power. Or he could team up with him, and at the end of the game get so annoyed with him that he gobbles him on impulse.
Henchmen 800 could eat normal black lums, and become 'Dark Henchmen' or something like that, who serve the Dark Razorbeard.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
The whole 'Dark' thing seemed specific to the story in R3 though.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
I don't see how it's relevant, but André wasn't the first black lum to exist. Otherwise, Murfy's comment, "André's a black lum, and black lums are twisted", wouldn't make any sense.

It's also stupid that black lums are scared red lums. I mean, if shadows would make a red lum turn into a black lum, how couldn't there appear a single black lum in Rayman 1 and 2? An ddon't tell me they did appear, but simply weren't in the game. That's even more stupid.

Still stupid. Basically, the whole black lum plot is stupid, but the Hoodlum idea etc is nice. It's just the backstory which sucks.

Remember the black puffs in The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire? Maybe they were a kind of black lum!need my speed wrote:It's also stupid that black lums are scared red lums. That's actually a nice idea. But, I think they're simply mutated catterpillars, or parts of a catterpillar, like Chenille splits into many catterpillars.

I've been thinking that for a while too! They look kinda similar, I guess, but then I realized: Those puffballs and black lums both appeared in Rayman 3 for Game Boy Advance. So they can't be the same.PluMGMK wrote: Remember the black puffs in The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire? Maybe they were a kind of black lum!

Well, they are obviously not the same. Since when do black lums disappear when Rayman punches them?Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:I've been thinking that for a while too! Re: Robo-Pirates!
Well in Rayman 3 for consoles his punches don't seem to be actually "hitting" the black lums, but merely passing through them. If it hit them, it would bounce off or disappear like it would on walls or Globox. In GBA it's 2D so you can't miss an enemy due to horizontal inaccuracy. Man, I think about stuff too much.PluMGMK wrote: Well, they are obviously not the same. Actually, in Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask, there was an enemy almost identical to the Shadow Caterpillars called Black Boes....PluMGMK wrote:Well, they are obviously not the same. Re: Robo-Pirates!
The black things in R2 are caterpillars. Boss Chenille = Caterpillar Boss. They even look like caterpillars. And the R2 manual makes reference to caterpillars and zombie chickens spreading out of control due to the destruction of the Heart.

Yesyesyesyesyes. I mean the flying ones. Also, it's just a hypothesis, not a theory. I once composed a handwritten walkthrough of Rayman 2 in my spare time at school and referred to them as "black lums (spiraldoor wrote:The black things in R2 are caterpillars. What do you mean by "the flying ones"? They all fly, don't they?

I mean the small black puffs. The long ones with yellow eyes just jump.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
I guess they're baby versions of the caterpillars. Or they could be what happens when a caterpillar is split; that could be how they reproduce. It certainly seems to be how the Boss Chenille reproduces.
