Robo-Pirates!
Hmmm... well, I'm a HUGE fan of the robo-pirates. In fact, if any enemy from the previous games were to make a comeback, I would pray that it'd be Razorbeard. Yeeeeah... He's mah favorite Rayman character.
Anyway, I noticed that we have topics for hoodlums and a ton of 'em for the rabbids (bleh), but *gasp* the pirates have nada!
Sooo, yours truely decided to change that.
I guess that this can be a general discussion for them. Do you like them? Do you not like them? Where do you think they came from? Yadda, yadda, yada. You get what I'm saying here.
Now... POST AWAY!

Re: Robo-Pirates!
I actually liked the Pirates back in Revolution too, even though they sometimes made me blow a fuse.
When I really began to love them, was when I started playing Rayman M. They were one of the most funniest characters in the game, their victory moves always making me burst out in laughter. I didn't like Razorbeard though...little pipsqueek, jumping around with the big robot, but when I beat the robot, he runs away.
Nevertheless, they're really cool, not to mention somewhat loveable, though I dislike their habit of enslaving.

Ya know what? I JUST NOW noticed that Razorbeard did the same thing as Mr. Dark.....soon as Rayman beat his final defences, he runs for his life!Zay-el wrote:I didn't like Razorbeard though...little pipsqueek, jumping around with the big robot, but when I beat the robot, he runs away.

They should face Rayman like men!! Andre's the only one who didn't run....then again, he couldn't. Reflux didn't run either!NeoKairi wrote:Weeell, he's a coward. Most villains are though, aren't they?

Neither did André! He just floated there patiently until you turned him back. XDLuckster_Gal wrote:They should face Rayman like men!! Andre's the only one who didn't run....then again, he couldn't. Reflux didn't run either!NeoKairi wrote:Weeell, he's a coward. Most villains are though, aren't they?

Ya know, I actually waited there, waitin for him to run. The only time he'd run was when ya got close to him, but he only backed up a few feet, screaming for Globox to save him. XD

Re: Robo-Pirates!
What about making a list of all kinds of Robo-Pirates? It could be quite interesting ^^

Re: Robo-Pirates!
That could end up being a long list, if we're allowed to branch outside the Rayman 2 game.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
I am the biggest fan of the robo pirates, there are 4 different types of robo pirates in rayman 2 (PS1 version), here are there locations, description and difficulty (out of 10):
red robo pirate (henchman 800)
location: almost everywhere
description: a robo pirate that wears red, and uses regular blasters, but some use upgraded ones, have more health and can drill underground. The most common type.
difficulty: * or if upgraded: ****
purple robo pirate
location: whale bay, the sanctuary of stone and fire, the echoing caves, the gloomy island/iron mountains
description: like henchman 800, but wears purple, some use weak blasters, but most use upgraded blasters, rarer than red ones.
difficulty: **
green robo pirate
description:like henchman 800, but wears green, only uses explosive barrels and has as much health as an upgraded henchman 800, the rarest type.
location:the fairy glade, the canopy
difficulty: * (have alot of health, but very easy)
ninja robo pirate (black robo pirate)
location: the sanctuary of stone and fire (as the boss), the precipice, the tomb of the ancients, the gloomy island/iron mountains
description: looks different than the regular robo pirates, it has a long head with an upset expression, wears a beret, has long lims connecting its arms and legs to its torso, it also uses weak blasters, but very rarely, and uses upgraded blaster the most, the coolest looking robo pirates, and is more common than purple
, but not as much as red, the strongest enemys in the game and has cool battle themes.
difficulty: *******

I'm no coward, and I'm a villain. Ch, goddamn fools, stereotyping us.NeoKairi wrote:Weeell, he's a coward. Most villains are though, aren't they?
I have no idea what I'm saying.
Anyway, Robo-pirates are excellent. They're killer robots. I've always loved films and games with things like that in.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
Yes, robo pirates are awesome.
Re: Robo-Pirates!
The pirates were the second best army. I believe the hoodlums came in first position. Nonetheless, the pirates are awesome and without them, Rayman 2 wouldn't be the game it is. My personal favorite pirate would be the barrel pirate.

Re: Robo-Pirates!
The Pirates are destroyable on their own, while Dark's minions each had to be destroyed specially. With the pirates, you only need firepower, with Dark's team, you need wits too.
And the Hoodlums were cool too, in their 'Do It Yourself' armors. I consider then more of a loveable ones, then really dangerous. 83

Re: Robo-Pirates!
Correction, Polokus had to destroy all the pirates on land. Rayman only fought against Razorbeard
