None of these wishful thoughts go any way towards explaining why the game was delayed until after its leaked release date.

We don't know if it's been delayed. There have been no offical announcements about it....all it did was show up on the ESRB, like most games.
Edit:
Look what I found.

First of all, it was never listed on the ESRB’s site. It was leaked by a games site (I think it was JeuxVideo), along with several other PS3 compilations. They each had release dates. The other compilations were later announced, proving that the rumour was reliable. The Rayman Trilogy was never officially announced. All of this indicates that it was indeed in development but was delayed or cancelled.

That’s just the rating for the PS3/PSP version of Rayman 2. It’s been on the ESRB site for a couple of years at this stage.

As much as I agree with you on how the original Rayman 2 is much better than Revolution, most PS3s won't play PS2 games and I would definitely appreciate being able to play it.

In a few years we’ll all be able to play Revolution on emulators. The Dreamcast version is the one that deserves to be remade and built upon and perpetuated.

It is already possible because I've recorded a complete playthrough for YouTube and you can go to anywhere: since the title until the credits.

The only thing that needs a major fix is the FPS, and few graphical glitches but they are very minor.

The Dreamcast emulator, NullDC, still needs to mature a lot: despite of being 100% playable there are still a lot of graphical glitches and sound/music glitches.

I know it’s already possible for some of us. I was talking more about the fact that we’ll probably all get new computers in the next few years.

Does NullDC even get updated anymore?

I'd love to be able to emulate Revolution but my laptop's too crap for that oh well.

I was also able to emulate RR in my laptop, and its capacities are lower than my desktop PC.

I think an average laptop of 700€ can run RR now.

The rumor doesn't become reliable or at all true just because all listed games got confirmed HD remakes while Rayman did not. Nothing was ever confirmed in terms of a Rayman Trilogy, no release date was made official. What you are referring to is this basic post which many news sites in the gaming journalism world repost ad nauseum:
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/3065 ... To_PS3.php

Note the word "suggesting." It's a news site suggesting through rumor. Games aren't counted as confirmed unless the company has actually made the press release. So far, all Ubisoft has confirmed to release upcoming is Beyond Good and Evil HD. Also, note that there are screenshots, videos, and official sources for BG&E or Splinter Cell in development for HD systems, whereas none of that exists at all for a proposed Rayman Trilogy.

Either way, the November 4th release date was never announced for anything straight by Ubisoft except for the Prince of Persia Trilogy, so I don't know why any of you are intent on applying it to other games because of some rumor.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but since the debate abruptly ended...does that mean Spiraldoor finally lost an argument? :waaahhh:

It was more a matter of not caring enough to continue, but now that you’ve brought it up I have no choice.

The original rumour suggested that the PS3 would see the release of a Prince of Persia Trilogy 3D, a Splinter Cell Trilogy, a Rayman Trilogy and a Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection. Since the rumour was posted, the Prince of Persia Trilogy 3D, the Splinter Cell Trilogy and the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection have all been officially announced. I would say this leaves little doubt that the report of a Rayman Trilogy was indeed accurate, but that the compilation was cancelled or delayed, much like Rayman Origins.

The point is that nothing is confirmed like you said. Confirmed means straight from the horse's mouth with release date intact. November 4th was definitely not the release date nor ever confirmed by Ubisoft.

You can't delay or cancel a game that never even had a confirmed existence or release date. That's my point.

This has zero to do with whether or not Ubisoft is working on a trilogy or have stopped working on it.

I’m not sure what you mean – I wasn’t claiming that Ubisoft had officially announced the Rayman Trilogy. I was claiming that its existence was more or less confirmed by the high level of accuracy present in every other part of the rumour. If the compilation was indeed in production, then it’s perfectly possible that it was delayed or cancelled behind the scenes.

its completely reasonable to assume that it was indeed a real project given that 3/4 of the rumours turned out to be 100% accurate; the most likely occurrence here is that it has been intentionally delayed to avoid an awkward release along side the great escape remake- rayman 3d on a nintendo system, one of the games that is most likely to be in the trilogy. Its not a real cross platform release, its 2 separate remakes so they probably want to give each game a bit of space
