I thought Wrath of Cortex and Ghostly Adventures were rushed games but RRR1 takes the cake.

Also, this was shared on official Ubisoft Rayman facebook page by admins themselves:

I think there was also something about André being back in RRR and him and Rayman fighting together. I don't have the book with me right now, I'm in Germany

I was about to do the exact thing! Its the first time we see that scenario in an drawing mode. Its probably one of the most obscure R2-related drawings we have seen so far.

@saer That detail is already known by the community (the fact that Rayman and André would team up to rescue their girlfriends).

I also already read the Rayman Origins and Rayman Jungle Run chapters. Interviews, interviews and not a lot of novelties either. I'll just point out...

RO related:

- The Co-op was finally implemented in this game since it was something originally planned in the R1 era but due to technical reasons they were not able to do it.
- A good part of the BG&E2 team had to stop what they were doing to migrate to the Rayman Origins project since the development of Jade's sequel was being as troublesome as the Tonic Trouble development before
- Grannies were going to be playable characters at first but they ended up becoming enemies from the Land of the Livid Dead. (There was also a very very small artwork where there was one with wings getting out of a coffin that drops underwear)

RJR related:

- Rayman Jungle Run is the result of the adaptation of RO to touch devices and it was initially thought to be a free app

I think I didn't forget anything else but I'll again post anything here once I read the Rayman Legends chapter, which seems to be big.

Also, Happy Halloween! :mryellow:

I remember talk about rumored RO port for tablets when Rayman Jungle Run was not even announced so I also thought about that it was probably adaption.

I don't think it was ever confirmed for tablets, the most we got was "consideration" from the old Ubi-Art blog.

RJR was originally a port. It's funny how a game's internal name often shows what it was originally supposed to be. The internal name for this is "ROMobile", much like RRR's internal name was "Rayman4".

OK guys, I just finished to read two more chapters: Rayman Legends and The Raymania. More interviews and already known trivia. I'll just point out things:

RL:

- Barbara was designed by Jean-Crhistophe Alessandri and co-designed by Christophe Villez. The idea of implementing a female character was something that Ancel wanted to do.

- The idea of implementing a narrative was again dropped. [Personal note: I think Michel Ancel won't rest until there's a Rayman game with his open-world and narrative elements :P!]

- A life points system was about to be done but it was dropped.

- The start of the game was initially planned to make players go directly to a village in flames and rescue Teensies but it did not happen in the end

- Antisocial from the Trust musical group was planned to have a musical level in the game but it was not possible due to copyrights. Other music planned was the notourious music of Rabbid Jacob's movie.

- The Propaganda choir of BG&E and the Luchador (plus Skeletons) choir was entirely sung by workers at Ubisoft Montpellier.

- Apparently the musics that we heard in the E3 2012 for the Rayman Legends demo were only made few days before it

There are some artworks shown that are unknown to the public, and I can describe that one of them is probably an early boss concept for the Armoured Toad where he was naked inside a wooden structure with a Toad form, kinda like a Trojan horse. There's other concept art which probably corresponds to a scrapped boss (that I honestly think its a shame that it didn't make to the game because I think he looks pretty cool): a long purple serpent with a golden helmet and hammer.

Raymania:

This chapter covers the most important spin-offs and compilations released so far.

- Rayman M was an idea of Serge Hascoët. He confessed to be a big fan of Super Mario Kart.

- Michel Ancel feels sorry for not having done a bigger presence in Rayman M's development. He admits it is a good game but he regrets not having done anything in order to make the game even better.

- Michel Ancel revealed his disappointment about the iOS and 3DS ports of Rayman 2, saying that they are bad ports since they didn't bring improvements and even points as an opportunist act.

- Rayman did three preschool campaignes in Brazil in order to promote the schoolarship of kids, partnered in Unicef (I didn't know about this Brazilian campaign)

Note for Motormike: I found two mistakes in Chapter 9 that I would like to show my observations.

Nº1 - In the mobile phone games of Rayman Gold, Rayman Bowling, Rayman Kart and Rayman 3 you pointed them to have been released for Android. They were actually released for Symbian.

Nº2 - In the Rayman: The Animated Series text, there's a phrase where you wrote at a point "ainsi que Cookie et Flip (Its "Flips" actually), trois autres détenus." Isn't Betina missing in this text portion?

Another nice summary, Haruka :D!

I'll add a few precisions:
Haruka wrote:- Antisocial from the Trust musical group was planned to have a musical level in the game but it was not possible due to copyrights.
Yes, but you can hear references to this very particular song in Dragonslayer ;). Yes, yes, check it out!
Haruka wrote:Other music planned was the notourious music of Rabbid Jacob's movie.
There was also a LMFAO's "I'm sexy and I know it" parody planned: it would have been called "I'm Teensie and I love it". ROFL
Haruka wrote:a long purple serpent with a golden helmet and hammer.
I guess they didn't use it because it was looking to much badass in order to be a boss. ;)

And indeed they were, I'm glad to see the man himself agrees with me, the 3DS version offered nothing new and still lacked the "Portable R2 definitive experience" (Anyone remember this false image: http://cdn3.spong.com/screen-shot/r/a/r ... -2DS-_.jpg), whileas the iOS version graphically, was a huge powerhouse, but control wise, was bad. Rayman 2 for the iOS was not designed for people with large thumbs, it is virtually impossible for me to strafe.

I think Ancel could have fixed the small amount of the problems in the game too, Lum Spring was pretty broken with the random spawning lums. Arena/M was a great game but you kind of get the sense of "rushed" when you play it for some reason. It's weird how Lum Spring is the first option there too on the battle menu as Lum Fight was actually way more based on skill, and far more enjoyable.

@Saer Thanks for the little corrections. :) The "I'm Teensie and I know it" was already known around here thanks to an interview shown in the internet if I remember well. I know it was already mentioned somewhere in the forum.

@Rayfist

I still remember when I tried to play the iOS port in Clara's iPod Touch. It was being quite a fight with the controls in order to pass the Fairy Glade, it was really nasty.

Rayman M was the first Rayman game that I've bought. I still remember well that day where I went to the Toys 'R' Us in Telheiras just to look for a Rayman game to buy since I was still thinking in the limbless wonder that I've tried out in the PlayStation of my neighbour of the time. In the PC games shelf there was the game copy. Then I was playing it a lot at home. Good times! I still ocasionally play it whenever I feel wanting to. Funny enough I've been trying out Rayman Arena for PS2 recently. Rayman M is for me one of the best spin-offs ever released although its mostly made in purpose for the fans so I can imagine how even better it could have turned out in the end if Ancel was more involved in it!

Its missing three chapters to read and they are relatively short all of them. I think I can finish the book reading after I return from school today. I will try to give some sumarized description of what kind of drawings are inside the forgotten artworks book and my final thoughts in the L'Histoire of Rayman.

So Michel himself was disappointed in the 3DS and iOS remake for not expanding R2? Makes me wonder what he thinks about Revolution.

Probably good thoughts, other then a few framerate issues, Revolution is certainly not something to be disappointed with... well I personally can't say I'm a huge fan of the slower fist animation, but that's just me.

Just watched your video. Glad you finally got the book. ^^
Just a little reminder, it's not me who's not 'in favour' of scanning. It's just forbidden by law, for obvious reasons. :D
Anyway, sorry for repeating myself.

When it comes to law, I am known to defy it a lot (of course small things only, I would never harm other people and I am always nice to others and do try always to help others, it's just that I am a man who believes in freedom of internet) so I just wanted to make it clear in video that only reason why I won't scan it is because of my respect towards you as a writer and not because of some law. Law when it comes to copyright means nothing to me.
I seen the book and I have to say it is very amazing. Thank you so much again for creating such amazing Rayman product.
Since I know 0 French and my fahter knows it a little bit, I might do funny video of him reading book (only a bit so won't be spoilers or anything, plus his French is bad :P)
