I'm mega-interested in finding out, being able to spot out all the clashing elements present in this picture and having absolutely no clue how they could possibly be inter-connected.

Pretty sure I took that image, which is from the Invade minigame.

What's with the water bubbles in the centre? Is it under water? And the Walking Shells next to Rayman?

Those on Rayman's sides are yellow baby Globoxes:


They help Rayman in preventing enemies and items spawning in the middle of the arena reaching the outside, by extending the range of his shots. The water bubbles are merely just an effect, the plums and skulls are power-ups and power-downs. See the footage below:

It looks like an activated door switch. I'm gonna go with The Fairy Council, Rayman 3, as it seems to fit that colour palette.
