If I bought it with my money I would get attacked by my mom. She doesn't allow me to have anything.

This is the funniest thing I've read all week.

Also, my brother got Tearaway today - and honestly, it seems like the most next gen game this year.

Made by the fine folks at Media Molecule, I believe, does it have the same charm as LBP?

Yes, it very much does - the PS Vita's camera tracks your face, and the in-game sun has your face on it as a result. IT'S LIKE THE TELETUBBIES.

One word of advice - never go to a midnight launch unless you REALLY want the console early, or you know for sure there will be a buzz, or something to do while you wait.

Anyway, we're setting it up and downloading the update and stuff right now.

I held the controller though, and IT'S FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, I'm so glad you can use it on a PS3. The PS3 controller feels weird to hold now. I cannot describe how nice it feels. My only nitpick is that the L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons are a bit too small for my taste, but it's a tiny issue!

Also, something very funny I saw at my local GameStop:

Next twelve months? Huh, I always thought return policies are limited to thirty days after purchase. :?

Well, I guess they're being generous about returns, need plenty of time to survey the next generation, hm?

Ugh I've been trying to sign into PSN for about an hour now. Didn't have this problem on Xbox. At the moment I've got a 350 quid piece of useless plastic and metal under my TV.

You can download the update on your PC and put it on a USB key, and then transfer it, if it's giving you trouble.

I can't use my PSN account right now. Years ago, it was hacked, and as a result, I could never sign it into other consoles besides the PS3 I set it up on (and only because I had it on auto sign-in). Basically, I put in my account details but another account ("The Hacker" in 1337 speak) keeps coming up. I'll have to ring customer support or something. For now, I'm just playing offline.

I finished Contrast. It's a very interesting game, though it feels like an experiment. I had fun though.

I'm currently playing Killzone: Shadow Fall. Surprisingly, I'm actually getting quite into it (I normally don't play FPS games).
It looks AMAZING, though. Truly beautiful.

Meh, I wouldn't judge a console based on its launch; look at the PS3, for instance. But I am going to wait.

The update downloaded immediately, the issue was with signing into my account and buying games. Thankfully, about 20 minutes ago I was finally able to buy Killzone, Assassin's Creed and Battlefield, and they're almost ready to play, so I'm pretty happy :)

For those of you who are missing the joke, I'll quote the relevant part:

"You will be required to present a valid receipt for your PS4 deposit when you collect your Xbox console."

Anyway, I got to Chapter 6 on Killzone.

I'm playing on Hard difficulty, though it's honestly not that difficult, save for two or three parts (which is surprising, as I figured I'd struggle a lot). I also love how big and open the levels are.

Played through a few chapters in Knack. The game is a lot of fun, more so than I expected actually. It's very challenging, I'm only playing on normal and would consider it in the same league as the original Crash Bandicoot and Rayman games in terms of raw difficulty. It's seriously 1 or 2 hits and your dead, but the checkpoints are so forgiving and there's absolutely no load times when you die. I feel a lot of people judge the combat as simple button mashing but there's a lot more to it than simply smashing square. Each combat situation is a little platforming sequence in its self, the game constantly throws new enemies at you and combines them in various ways with the environment, so your always jumping over new obstacles and evading a variety of attacks. I can see it getting ad repetitive later down the line but for now it's very challenging and enjoyable.

The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, everything is so clear and crisp from the environments to Knack himself where each relic that he's made up from is rendered rendered beautifully resulting in an awesome and unique looking character. The game feels very nostalgic to me, whilst playing I attained feelings similar to that i did playing Crash Bandicoot 10 years ago, going hand in hand with the joy of watching a new Pixar film with great characters and a nice narrative to boot. So yeah, I'm liking the game, I'd give it an 8.3/10 so far.

Hm, would you say it's recommendable at full price?

I have been enjoying Killzone way more than I thought I would, though. I don't understand the hate for Killzone. The controls are fine. Just because they are not one to one with Call of Duty, does not mean they are bad. And I love OWL. Adds a lot to the experience.
