I wouldn't believe that article for a second, as right off the bat it's wrong.
You will be able to recreate objects and maps for Crysis 2.
It's actually the exact opposite. You will be able to create objects and maps NOT for Crysis 2.

on CE3, we aren't sure yet, but it should be automatically cross-compatible.

Okay., forget the Wii guys, the Wii isn't powerful enough to support CryEngine 2 or 3. However Crytek has stated they wish to bring their engine to the Wii-U when it comes out.

Also The3Dguy, I know you said that you want to get a demo out by early next year, but I highly doubt anyone could work that fast, especially alone when planning to use CryEngine2. However I don't know how easy to use or how efficient the CE3 SDK will be when it comes to making your games from scratch. Remember that you're going to have to do everything by scratch when it comes, and a standard team of 25-50 people working on an indie game will usually, according to today's standards, take at least a year to produce even an alpha.

Basically just letting you know that it won't go as fast as you think, especially taking into account that some things are bound to go wrong requiring finding ways around the problems which often stall development. It happens to everybody. :mryellow:

Probably just an honest mistake. There's no need to create a new post just to point it out.

well it was an estimated guess( and a bad one at that) and yes i know i will have to do every thing from scratch and are you sure the wii is not powerful enough to run ce2 or 3? also yes i know i will run into problems ( i already have with cry engine 2) and are you sure crytek said that?

Yes, I am 400% sure. CryEngine2 isn't nearly optimized enough to run on any console, and CryEngine3, even though heavily optimized (it looks better while running twice as fast and smooth), can only be played on consoles at a medium setting. The Wii is less than half as powerful as the 360 and PS3. In short, the Wii has crap hardware that has been out of date since 2003.

CEO Cevat Yerli tells Develop that Crytek's engine is almost up and running on Nintendo's new console:
Cevat Yerli wrote:Crytek's support for Wii U is definitely going to happen. We aren't showing it but we are pretty much running it already.
