What happened to the first level of bongo hills?

They got rid of it, perhaps because there are two different versions of that level and they were unsure which to implement.

You mean the second, using the rocket to get on top ?
If uyes, actually this is a frame glitch. If you climb at an exact framr then jump at exact frame, you"ll be bounced by Rocket, works too with the plum (violet thing)

Thanks, actually, this glitch works one this platform only, because it's a 45 degrees slope, and when the developpers designed, they don't make a block which don't allow you, but on other when you go through , it like:
YOU SHALL NOT PASS

I have a guess why no final collection was published in English. Rayman Collector, the French edition, was published in 2000 (Millenium). Rayman Platin Collection, which is the German version, published a year later. So does UbiSoft need a whole year to bring the other language version? If this were so, that may explain why, in 2002, no English-language version of Rayman Collector was published. Windows XP was published in 2002 and thus the poor MS-DOS support. What do you think? The only R1 Game Collection in English Language was Rayman Forever. In France it's the same and Germany it's called Rayman Classique Gold. In that collection is the 60 unreleased Levels and those 3 Mini Games missing. In Germany there's also a Box called Rayman Forever but it's only the 3 MiniGames + Making Of + Rayman 60 Levels.

I've never seen this picture in rayman 1.
Is this a special version of the game? I only played on Playstation, I may confess.

To answer your question: that is the very beginning of the Band Land world in the PC version. It's part 1 of the level Bongo Hills. In most versions this part looks like the rest of Band Land (basically a lot of drums and music bars). However, in the PC version it has been redesigned. It's a sort of transition between Dream Forest and Band Land - you start on the ground and make your way to bars of slippery sheet music up in the sky. Check out this RayWiki article to see the differences in Bongo Hills between the PlayStation version you're familiar with and the PC version.
