I prefer the PS2 mainly because it can play both awesome PS2 games and PS1 games. :mryellow:

Same thing here. :P

I just find a shame that Croc 2 is one of the fewest PS1 games with compactibility issues (glitchy sound effects).

@Bzzit
Kameo was the reason I bought 360
Same how Voodoo Vince was the reason I got Original Xbox
Yeah it was one of my first agmes for 350, it annoys me how Microsoft cancelled the Kameo sequel, among numerous other RARE projects. But yeah great memories with Rayman, Crash (especially the second game) and Spyro :)

PS1 had a better library overall though, the best version of Rayman 1, Resident Evil 1-3, Tekken 1-3, Street Fighter Alpha 1-3, Crash Bandicoot 1-3, Spyro 1-3, some of the BEST fucking trilogies.

Yeah great library indeed, however the Ps2 had the likes of Jak 1-3, Ratchet and Clank 1-3, Sly 1-3, GTA 3- SA, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Devi May Cry 1-3, GOW 1 and 2 and Ico+ SOTC. Both excellent but I personally prefer Ps2 :mrgreen:

The original PlayStation was fantastic, but Ico and Shadow of The Colossus are a force to be reckoned with. Plus, the PS2 had a quite expansive (yet sub-par) remake of Rayman 2. Not to mention games like the Jak and Ratchet trilogies (they're good, so I've heard), Okami, and Beyond Good & Evil. The PS1 and PS2 rank quite high on my favorite consoles of all time. There is just a certain experience that I get when playing on a Sony console that cannot be found elsewhere, but the same could be said of the competition as well, namely Nintendo with innovative ways to play.

Agreed on so many levels.

For me the PlayStation 2 is one of the best consoles ever made, not just for the library but the functionality too (playing DVDs, compactible with PS1 games, ergonomic controllers...).

Much better then PS3 in my opinion. Hopefully PS4 will have awesome library of games like PS2 and a lot of 3D Platformers.

I thought Ps3 had an excellent library and has more great titles on the way. I just feel it needed a few more quality JRPG's and 3D platformers which it lacked compared to the prior consoles; they both excelled greatly in delivering those genres. Sure the Ratchet and Clank future trilogy as well as Sly cooper: thieves in time were great however there was a lack of both Jak and Ape Escape, as well as third party 3D platformers which the Ps2 had tons of. In terms of JRPG's, Ni No Kuni and Valkyria Chronicles were cool among a few others, but a lack of quality Square-Enix titles like the last couple of generations was very disappointing. For PS4, I'd like to see both Jak and Ape Escape make a return as well as reviving some old IP's such as Dark Cloud and Legend of the Dragoon. Knack and having a Level 5 game in development (maybe Ni No Kuni 2?) aswell as Kingdom hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV is a nice promising start. :)

Not entirely about the subject matter, but can anyone confirm if PSone Classics Rayman and Rayman 2: The Great Escape are available on the PSN Store on Playstation Vita?

Yes, but I want to own disc. I am not a fan of classic games in digital form. I prefer to have classics in physical form and modern games in digital form.

I prefer physical copies since I am a collector. I like to really own the objects and building up a collection, where my ocasional visitors that appreciate tech/gaming can see. They also have the advantage of valourizing more with the time passage rather than with digital copies. Yes, digital copies are cheaper and also save up real space in your bedroom, but I still have a preference for physical copies. You know, that excitement of removing a plastic from a box and reading the manual. :D
