Oh thank jesus, finally!
My PS2 sucks so bad! It does really hard to read a disc espacially the blue PS2 CD-ROMS. Has anyway a solution for this issue? I can launch uLaunchElf or something it's modchipped.

I don't know how to solve that. Once I had a question concerning a Memory Card.

Re: Official Playstation Topic
Dunno, I haven't owned a PS2 in years, a pity too, such a marvellous console it was, so many games I loved and held dear, one of the biggest problems I had with the PS3 was its lack of backwards compatibility, I had to part with many games when the console breathed its last, and the games we held were sold on.
Re: Playstation topic
Thats what you get when you have chipped console. I know many people who told me that modchip after some time starts making PS2's and PS1's reading some discs harder.emshomar wrote:Oh thank jesus, finally!

Re: Official Playstation Topic
I wouldn't have bought a PS2 if the PS3 supported its physical games, but I must agree that PS2 is one of the best consoles ever made, with a strong gaming catalogue.

Re: Official Playstation Topic
All other disc typed can be read fine, sometimes it takes too much and sometimes super fast. Only that blue CD format!! It only loaded after resetting 100 times. And it just came back from the company who actually were supposed to fix that issue!!
Isn't yours also modchiped with Matrix Infity or Modbo or whatever?OldClassicGamer wrote:Thats what you get when you have chipped console. I know many people who told me that modchip after some time starts making PS2's and PS1's reading some discs harder.
And they still live on. Every electro market in my city are still selling PS2 slim consoles and PS2 games. I read that the PS2 is the most successful console ever and still on every household there should be still one lying.Haruka wrote:I wouldn't have bought a PS2 if the PS3 supported its physical games, but I must agree that PS2 is one of the best consoles ever made, with a strong gaming catalogue.

Re: Official Playstation Topic
I never said my PS2 does not have reading issues. It has Toxic Modchip and to read some discs I must turn on diagnoses on, and all other settings changed on that menu when you press triangle button in main menu.
Some older models had that support but Sony removed emotion chip from console to make it cheaper for new models.Haruka wrote:I wouldn't have bought a PS2 if the PS3 supported its physical games, but I must agree that PS2 is one of the best consoles ever made, with a strong gaming catalogue.
Re: Official Playstation Topic
Are you sure? In Portugal it isn't sold anymore, both the PS2 consoles and its accessories disappeared from the Portuguese market quite some months ago. Afterall we are close to the end of cycle of life of the PS3, with the PS4 knocking the door, but I can tell I adquired the very last model of the PS2 (SCPH-9**** I think) and I adquired the PS3 quite late too (Slim version, but said to be the best version out of the three released).emshomar wrote:And they still live on. @OCG That was taken off from newer models because of huge flaws of retrocompactibility and anyway, who would give 600€ for it at the time?

Aye OCG, but after a shutdown the settings on the main-menu-triangle-pressing-thing are gone and I can redo that all over again and again each start.
Fix'dHaruka wrote:Are you sure? In Portugal it isn't sold anymore, both the PS2 consoles and its accessories disappeared from the Portuguese market quite some months ago.emshomar wrote:And they still live on. Every electro market in my city are still selling PS2 slim consoles and PS2 games.

@Haruka
PS3 with 20GB and 60GB had hardware emulation with emotion chip and it was taken off because of price. I agree that not many would like to pay 600€
First model of PS3 80GB had software emulation for PS2 discs and there were flaws with it so that was reason why they took it. I know people who have 60GB PS3 with Hardware Emulation and it is perfect. No glitches at all. Only games it cannot play are demo discs.
Second model of PS3 80GB and every other model were not compatible with PS2 discs. Only PS1 software emulation.
Anyways, my PS2 is SCPH-9004. As for PS2 games. There are no longer sold in Japan either. Japan stopped supporting PS2 games first.

Re: Official Playstation Topic
I currently have a SCPH-75001 Ps2, it won't let me play Jak X properly therefore I hate the thing. I miss my fat silver ps2 but I sold it for an xbox 360 when I was 12

Heh yah, that's exactly my father's argument from preventing me to buy that PS2 I have now.Haruka wrote:Afterall we are close to the end of cycle of life of the PS3, with the PS4 knocking the door,
I wonder if there will be modchips or better softmods for the PS3 after sony stops supporting the PS3 so these groups can develop something good without interfiering with updates.
I got the SCPH-35004 v4 black fat modell. The driver versions are outdated and it has a unkown modchip installed.
Look what it made out of Rayman 1:
