For that one I guess it changes because you have a Slapdash and a Hoodoo in front of the snowboard. I guess scoring would have to stop as soon as the Slapdash is dead, or when the snowboard section starts.Maz wrote:How so?

I can't actually see them at all.WeshKanapesh wrote:http://www.twitch.tv/got4nlol

2.880 then... 2.850 + 30 from the Slapdash, the Hoodoo can be skipped; if you shoot towards the Slapdash, then hit the Hoodoo and then really quickly shoot at the Slapdash again, the Hoodoo won't show up in time and the Slapdash will die.iHeckler9 wrote: For that one I guess it changes because you have a Slapdash and a Hoodoo in front of the snowboard. Aside from the strafing, there's an option to walk. If you use that, you can skip the last Yellow Gem in the first hallway as well.WeshKanapesh wrote: http://www.twitch.tv/got4nlol

I was aware of that.Maz wrote:2.880 then... I was not aware of this. It may also help to run at Hoodbooms, as a single hit from their own grenade kills them instantly. This works for every Hoodboom (and most Stumblebooms).Maz wrote:You most likely know this yourself, but it might be advantageous to NOT kill the Hoodblasters with a single strike, since you'll get 30 extra Points for killing enemies with one hit. Instead, just weaken them - with your way of playing, it's a difference of 150 Points in this Part.WeshKanapesh wrote: http://www.twitch.tv/got4nlol

Good ideaMaz wrote:Yep, the strategy with the Hoodbooms is really helpful. Also, you can almost always let the Hoodlums shoot each other to death, or have the Hoodboom throw grenades at them. For example, in HH Part 2, the only Hoodlums I killed by myself in the first room where one Hoodflyer and the Heckler, and there's like 7 enemies in this room.
By the way, I've read your posts about TOTL and meant to tell you this for quite some time, but you can actually skip the whole level. In the first area with the many Hoodlums, you can just jump towards the upper platform, climb to the top, free the Teensie, break the Door and then finish the level. That's how I ended up with 40 Points in this Part. I'm saying this because it sounded like you went through the whole Part.
And while we're at TOTL, at the final Reflux Stage, it's a good strategy to simply not kill any of the Hoodlums which appear out of Reflux' back. It takes a lot of time to finish him off like this, but at least you don't get any more than 1.500 Points out of him.
I didn't use a single Glitch either, because I didn't know whether they were allowed. It's just a normal jump.iHeckler9 wrote: I didn't use a single glitch while playing, I just grinded hard in the levels I could. I didn't even know they existed!
Tower of the Leptys took longer than expected...The console I was playing on didn't do what it usually does at the start of the second part. At the top of the tower the PS2 version already has the Lockjaw can up there without having to defeat all the Hoodstormers. On the PS3 version, however, I had to beat every single one, which wasn't good. But I'll have to try that bit later.Maz wrote:Take a look at MandM1981's video for this Part, and you can see how to skip the whole Part. But since you didn't know that, I'm pretty impressed by your TOTL Score.
Very impressive. I guess there's no point trying for a lower score on that level.WeshKanapesh wrote:I got 0 on Longest Shortcut!
