Yeah, Rayman 4 prototype is more interesting one since we know very little about it, but based on what I've seen, if I had to choose between 4 and RR to come out then I'd have chosen RR one mainly because of the story, Ray 4 story would have basically taken Kingdom Hearts route given how Rayman was meant to meet other Ubisoft heroes such as Jade and Prince of Persia and IMO this could have killed the overall mysterious magical vibe of the series, even more than current Raving Rabbids games, the whole idea of it being a reboot also rubs me the wrong way.

I didn't know about those details either, and I totally agree with you. I guess all I like about that prototype is the beautiful artwork.

To be fair, it still could have been a good game though I'd have preffered if it didn't diverge from the series structure that much. However, the game was in alpha\beta stage and there wasn't a proper villain made for the game yet, it could have been Dark Rayman but he would have functioned as some kind of a "glitch" on which we don't know much about, so there's a chance that the story could have changed until the final version

I'm not even sure there really was a story at that point, they probably had a lot of ideas but not a real plot yet.

Well, I was interested in the Vaniberry thread about G4 clip, so I decided to look for it, but I actually find the video from E3 2006 with Gounon Loic (senior coordinator) talking about RRR. So:
The puzzles were meant to appear in the game.
Ability to hypnotize Rabbids was called "Art of Dance".
"We also have lots of mini games". Maybe what we have seen at E3 gameplay was really the collection of minigames as it was speculated before. But for sure the mini-games were meant to be implemented.
"This new Rayman is way more open".
Ten huge worlds and the ability to explore them.
Level with gigantic Rabbids' machines from E3 was one from those worlds and it was called "wasteland".
Oh hi! I'm Still looking for that report on Rayman 2..it's way more difficult than I ever thought!
Thank you for even considering helping me!
I am still, to this day, looking for more files hidden in the RRR Wii Disk, but everything's been pretty much discovered throught time, it makes me happy that little by little, we are closer to finding the true vision of Rayman 4

It seems that this is from one of those puzzle games from the DS version, I don't think a hq version of the image exists at the moment.

Some new animations from the cancelled prototype.

"some new animations" = basically the entire barebones skeletal structure of the ghost Rayman 4's platforming gameplay.

I meant some newly discovered animations from the cancelled prototype which were hidden in the game's files, better?

It's a mod that is fully playable if you have the PC version. There is more than what is showcased in the video as well. I made a thread for it here: viewtopic.php?t=74658

I found some rabbids images on Facebook from the "L'Art dans le jeu vidéo" exhibition, but the problem is that, I don't know if they're already on the wiki (Google's reverse image search didn't work) or where should they be placed. The first link is interesting, it says "Rayman contre les Lapins Crétins, 2006", and features another giant rabbid robot, was this artwork for the Rayman Raving Rabbids (cancelled prototype)?
Is unknown the date exactly about the point that began the idea for become the platforming game to party game. but maybe this was very late, we know that the reason why the idea for make a party game was because the game was intended for be a lunch Wii game but the platforming prototype was not finished yet in the last builds, the Wii was close for be release in some mouths. so, the team had the idea for replace every ideas of the platforming game to party game but this decision was made very late, don't just using the platforming game as base, the final game has leftovers from the platforming prototype that we know that for years were discovered.
About the GBA version, considered that the idea for become the platforming game to party game was late, the GBA version do references to the home console platforming prototype, generally on plot. but the GBA version was actually intended for be a portable version of the Phoenix's Rayman 4? generally is about the similar scenarios, some power ups that works similar on a concept art. and leftovers with so much ideas that looks resembles to the phoenix's concept arts. this is like the GBA version of Rayman 3 that looks like intended for be a portable version of Rayman 2.
