i had no choice, we have to do science in year 9 and that was one of the topics we were covering.

yeah, we get some electives. but history, geography, maths, science and health/PE are compulsory until the end of year 10 and english has to be done up until the very end.

In our system, history and geography is combined into one class, Social Studies. You do that, Science, English, Math, and PE all through high school. There are some fairly good option, but nothing all that amazing.

yeah well, as electives we have textiles, art, woodwork, metalwork, engineering, IST, graphics technology, drama, agriculture, food technology, french, german, japanese, indonesian and possibly some others i can't think of. but you only get to choose 2.

In my school we could choose to do the following [those in bold were ones I took]:
French, IT or PE [an hour period of PE was compulsary, while a one hour IT was called Key Skills]
Geography or History
Art, Drama or Music
Graphics, Resistant Materials [woodworks] or Textiles
And in the end we could choose whether or not to take the final Religious Education exam, but I was one of only two people that actually chose not to.

we only had...like...one elective. Everything else that could be considered an elective was a business type class.
