Aw, thanks.

Yep, thanks to the Rayman Control Panel it's easy to do this kind of thing.
It's funny, the upscaled texture pack I was using only included a hi-res texture for Tily in Race Mode. In Battle Mode and on the Menu, she was still lo-res. I copied the hi-res texture into all three CNTs when I was finished anyway.

Perhaps, then, there is a way to change Tily into Ly in the game?

I kind of thought this would be impossible due to their build.

Yeah, Tily's too short. Changing the model would be a much more involved task.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this would be a crazy amount of effort to actually do, a lot more than just simply changing the textures.

Nuts! Still I would have loved to see how Ly played in this game.

Not very well I'd say – there's a reason she was replaced. To be fair, I don't think the people who designed Tily set out to create a monstrosity. Maybe they were rushed.

I did see someone replace a human with Globox in a Tony Hawk's game, and that somehow worked.

That seems a likely theory thinking about it. Maybe if there was thought put into Tily I wouldn't feel as negative about her as I do today.

I should try find a link to that Globox mod and post it here after RD.

I guess since Tily was born from the difficulty in adapting Ly to play like Rayman, in a very real sense Tily is the daughter of the two, even though I don't think many people are happy with that as an in-universe theory.

I still don't like Globox's eyes in M/Arena...

What a very curious theory, I've never thought of Tily as being their offspring.

I came up with the theory in 2009, and shoehorned it in on top of some of spiraldoor's theories (some of which were also quite "out there"):

And yet, I remember spiral tried hard to retcon the inconsistent lore of the Rayman series!

It was a lot easier before Origins came along!

A lot easier, but still quite a daunting task!

I was able to agree with a lot of what he said tbh. The idea of Betilla and Mister Dark being Rayman's parents wasn't motivated by retconning though, it was just an idea he had. An interesting one, but a bit too far for me – and also apparently contradicted by Origins…

Well maybe if they had kept to the prequel business then maybe it would have been more consistent?

The series was always fairly inconsistent anyway, it just got even worse.
