I'll go ahead and take that neutrally. And I've passed this game 3 times so it's not the same joy, but I like having the game again after so much time and passing it againMaster4lyf1 wrote:Such innocent childish joy...

Been playing. I got a granted access to a bonus with those baby Globox races against a spyglass pirate. I have to make a big effort to push right and left so quickly on PC so when I won my heart was beating really fast and strong. When I went back to Hall of Doors my heart was beating strongly at the same tempo as the music. It was a pretty epic moment for some reason. I felt connected to the game haha
Re: Rayman 2
For anyone whos played them both, which would you say looks better out of the ps1 and DS versions?
Re: Rayman 2
PS1 by far. The DS version has got glitches and pixelizations that didn't exist in N64 in first place.
Re: Rayman 2
And the textures of the ps1 are just ugly.Haruka wrote:PS1 by far. The DS version has got glitches and pixelizations that didn't exist in N64 in first place.

I completely agree. Same here. Rayman 2 looks better in 3DRayrobi wrote:And the textures of the ps1 are just ugly.Haruka wrote:PS1 by far. The DS version has got glitches and pixelizations that didn't exist in N64 in first place.

She was talking about the DS, not the 3DS.Rayman502 wrote:I completely agree. Same here. Rayman 2 looks better in 3DRayrobi wrote:And the textures of the ps1 are just ugly.Haruka wrote:PS1 by far. The DS version has got glitches and pixelizations that didn't exist in N64 in first place.

You both seem to have misinterpreted what it is Haruka is saying.Rayman502 wrote:I completely agree. Same here. Haruka is stating her preference to Rayman 2 PS1 3D graphics over the NDS version's glitched and pixelated graphics.
Re: Rayman 2
How old were you guys when you first beat Rayman 2?

Re: Rayman 2
That's a difficult 'un, it has been some time.
I think I completed the PS1 version at about 6 years old.

Re: Rayman 2
If I recall correctly, I got R3 for Christmas 2003, which means I completed R2 earlier during that year. That means I must have been seven (unless I completed it in December, which AFAIK wasn't the case).
Re: Rayman 2
Cool I finished it when i was 8 took me a good couple of years
Did anyone find it hard at the time (since all of you seemed to have played it as a kid) I just remember having trouble in the sanctuaries that involved fire and lava
Re: Rayman 2
The PS1 game does look pretty bad when put beside even the original N64 version, but the DS version is definitely the worst port of R2 in all areas, I just completed the horrid thing a few weeks ago. I'd like to try the PC and iPhone versions of the game though, my favorite version is stuck between N64 and Dreamcast.Master4lyf1 wrote:You both seem to have misinterpreted what it is Haruka is saying.Rayman502 wrote:I completely agree. Neither my father nor I could do that first helicopter jump in the Woods of Light, to the platform with the crying Globoxes.Bzzit wrote:Did anyone find it hard at the time (since all of you seemed to have played it as a kid)
*two of us try and fail to get across*
Dad: There must be somewhere else we can jump from.
Me: No.
Dad: End of story so!
Thank God I kept trying...
Re: Rayman 2
Haha when i had the Pc version when i was like 5 or 6 me and my brother got stuck here too!! Think I later got stuck at like Sam the Snake or something later on thanks to me sucking at the Pc controls which led to be buyn the ps1 version a couple years later and completing it within like a weekPluMGMK wrote:Neither my father nor I could do that first helicopter jump in the Woods of Light, to the platform with the crying Globoxes.Bzzit wrote:Did anyone find it hard at the time (since all of you seemed to have played it as a kid)

Re: Rayman 2
When Clark told me to go to the Marshes of Awakening, I hadn't been paying enough attention to realise what he was telling me to do. I spent weeks just going back into the Menhir Hills looking for something to go into. Eventually I remembered that the marshy level had a second path which had previously repelled me because I was scared of jumping eyes (XD) and went back there. Sure enough, there was Jano, and soon I was in the Cave of Bad Dreams, which also took me weeks to complete!
