Well, perhaps it's the fact that there are so many (arguably-)meaningless skins of Rayman and Globox in the game, so one is predisposed to also dislike the (arguably-)meaningless skins of Barbara too? I feel like the princesses have more meaning than the other skins since you actually "rescue" them as part of the "story", but then… What story?

I got a bit of a dirty look and I am forced to say that not all skins in Rayman Legends are unnecessary...

Never were tbh, you either have to say all are, or none are

The plaid clothing and the Pictish painted face. Also I think some aspects of them are references to Braveheart, but I'm not familiar with that film myself so I couldn't be sure

Maybe it was a reference to braveheart because the movie released around the same time as R1 and figured that’d be cool? Nah most likely they just needed another idea for a warrior

I'm not that bored, I just watched FMJ, it was real good, but yea it was a somewhat bleak film, so I'm not super energetic right now.

Are you referring to full metal jacket?

It's really good, but it's bleak and depressing at times (or all the time, depending on who you ask).
