That's suspicious...

BTW... check the Japanese poster

It's fun how the japanese audience seems more attracted to kawaii-themed advertisements... you can tell by the covers of the kirby games, for example. America makes an effort to make Kirby look badass and brave by editing the cover, but Japan keeps it cute, pink and adorable. Huh. Zangief just doesn't fit in this poster xD

Also, apparently this movie is going to be called "Sugar Rush" in Japan. Proves even more that Japanese are obsessed with cuteness while Americans are obsessed with manliness.

Also, is it just me, or are the characters that are smaller and easier to animate more likely to make a cameo?

*BUMP*

OK, I just saw a trailer on TV in Portuguese dub (The title is adapted as "Força Ralph"), and it says it comes to the cinemas at 8th November! :D

I'll try to convince my father to watch it after in 3D. :mryellow:

They were careful in making Zangief keeping a russian accent.

I watched a French trailer before Skyfall last Friday. French voice actors are very very bad (I prefer OV so far now :beurk: ) and the title has been translated like that : "The Worlds of Ralph". UGH! SO HORRIBLE TRANSLATION!

In latin american it sucks terrible balls, Zangief sounds like a teenager:

Well. at least it's not like the dub from spain, in that version they changed the part where Fix-it Felix says "Stand by. My Q-Bert-ese is a little rusty." with "Don't worry, I think I know how these birdies talk" :boon:

It advertised a little too much with real gaming characters when most only had a cameo, but besides that I really liked this movie.

I think the videogame characters were fine, they were there more like to give authenticity to the ambiance, pretty much like the original toys in Toy Story: you could see toys from Playskool and Mattel, but they didn't just spread them all in your face instead of giving an interesting plot with great characters. My personal favourite? Q*Bert, he's not a main character, but damn, he's the only licenced character with a personality perfectly developed, and he's so adorable I made an artwork of him:

I'm also VERY glad that they made cameos of retro characters like pacman, tapper and the chef from burger time, instead of overvalued nowadays characters like Master Chief, Altair and Sora from Kingdom Hearts... it's a movie about arcade games, after all. I also had a chance to watch the latin american dubbed version, it's decent... Looks like they improved the voice of Zangief and made him sound more russian... the only problem is that they hired an old mexican comedian to voice Vanellope just because "everybody loves that comedian"... gosh, she sounded like a granny, and her voice acting was annoying as hell.

The Master Chief doesn't need to cameo in a movie; he's got his own. Besides, you're right when you say that he just wouldn't fit in a movie like this.

I watched it... it actually isn't Deku Link, it's one of the bunch of original characters that are designed to look almost exactly like licensed characters, like the Zombie who is designed after Cyril from House of the Dead. This one is just some sort of bear with a small cannon-like trunk, Link's hat, a green loincloth and a depressed face. if it wasn't for the small ears, it would basically be Deku Link. Nice lawyer-friendly move, Disney.

Well they have Bowser, so they must have gotten permission from Nintendo. So why is Deku Link a bear?

The more characters you add, the more it costs. If they're only going to be a background cameo character, why go through the effort of paying the company another six figures, if you can also just make a character resemble another one for far less?
