I still remember the raytunes code for this!
Ah yes, I forgot about RayTunes embeds being a thing. They used to be so poorly optimised before that they would actually trigger DDoS protection. :P
I remember crashing the site by posting 10 raytunes embeds
But they were all good songs though!
Yeah I don't think that happens anymore, it's been so much more optimised since then.

Mini looks like it's got some creative things in it, it's a shame that it's yet another exclusive, it makes me wonder why they did it again after the whole wiiu legends fiasco :mefiant:
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple handed them a big sum of money in a desperate need to provide a big enough title for the Apple Arcade...
The weirdest thing to me in that game is how they started with the Flaming Teensy as the antagonist and then added Mr Dark for no reason while actually putting efforts into his new design!... And then Mr Dark isn't even a boss and just gives you challenges! :hap:

Yes since Adventures took over the Worlds of Legends it is a good thing that Mini has new ones

It's like Mini was made by Rayman fans (neat sets, return of Mr Dark...) and that Ubisoft limited them

Yeah. I think there's going to be a lot of unintentional double posting around the end.

A lot of things in this game feels like a mix of what the old devs and the new ones would do, which is one of the few things which attracted me to Mini.
Even the trailers had a lot of personality put into them surprisingly for some exclusive mobile stuff by making Rayman very expressive, which gave us some awesome reaction images! :noel:

Ah, just one more and they'll definitely be convinced! :noel:
Then add a fourth one and we're getting Rayman 4 for sure! :hehe:

Would probably sound like that fight in Oblivion:

Unpopular opinion: Rayman Redemption missed some opportunities when remaking Rayman 1 and some the changes were uneccessary (like the Hunter's bullets).
I've always throught Redemption was cool, it just had a lot of things holding it back for me.

Even before they found that prototype of it and all I had was a picture of those few screenshots from that magazine, I thought it would've made a fine game. I probably would've loved it, even! Old CGI virtual world stuff has always fascinated me, so a game made to look raytraced and set in some fantastical imaginary computer world where a kid provides his own antivirus is right down my alley.
Yeah, I think the Jimmy idea gets a lot more flak than it deserves. In the end, you can still see its structure in the final game: the sound chip in Band Land, the GPU in Picture City, the power supply in Eat at Joe's, and the mysterious Big Boss Virus at the end (whose name survives in the sprite filenames, and in the title one of Rémi's recording sessions, God rest him – warning: a dog barks unexpectedly near the end!).
Rayman Saturn wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:32 pm It's honestly kind of ironic that this is the direction they went for in these games when before he's the one who decided to go for something deeper and more serious for Rayman 2, wanting to focus more on the story (as I've read in l'Histoire de Rayman years ago). It seems like his vision on the series depended on his mood at the time and that sadly resulted in such inconsistencies.
I guess that's where the idea of the world being an inconsistent haze based on Polokus's ever-evolving dreams comes from – substitute "Michel" for "Polokus" and you've got it in one :hap:

And of course as a leftover partly hiding on the continue screen! :mryellow:

I had always wondered about the more abstract parts of Rayman 1, I'm amazed I never thought about them that way! I remember that recording, very nice remix of an already great track. Gosh, I would've loved to hear more but alas. Blessed be Rémi. :nostalgic:

The jimmy heritscool idea I don’t really like, but something that gets well up my nerves is when people think that was the SNES plot, when it wasn’t introduced until 2 years later

Really? That one SNES proto has the words "Fight the virus" on a wall if I remember correctly.

Yeah, it's been a while since I read up on this, but I wasn't under the impression that the story was newer than any playable demo. But I could be wrong… What's your source Greengoop?

I think green's referring to that one Jaguar ad, which really doesn't prove anything.
Also, to stay on topic...

Unpopular opinion:
The Rayman Advance ost doesn't suck.

You know, despite the damage to my ears that could happen from listening with my headphones, I do think there are at least one or two really good tracks in there, like "Mountain Spring."
