You're right, I read your post too fast and thought you said Japanese speaking members (which seemed more relevant in the context of translating Japanese text)!

You might just be better at games than the average player. I felt the same as you when I first showed up online, I had no idea people thought Rayman 1 was a hard game, but I guess I played a lot of very hard games as a kid.EdgeRabbit wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 7:03 pm I geniunely dont get why people find this game hard? Re: Rayman 1
What, don’t tell me you failed at Pink Plant Woods too??? In any case I wouldn’t given how you mentioned to me that you ragequit somewhere between Bongo Hills and Picture City, unless I’d forgotten something?

I still have yet to finish Jaguar and Saturn versions myself (have to emulate those sadly)
Advance is the easier game. If you want the challenge the PS1 brings, go for it!EdgeRabbit wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 7:21 pm Should i play this game on my Playstation or GBA??? Cuz.. im conflicted?

Re: Rayman 1
I've always been a very average player yet I also find that people tend to greatly exaggerate the difficulty of the game. Sure, I was stuck for a bit, but I eventually beat it as a kid so it can't possibly be that hard?Adsolution wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 3:34 am You might just be better at games than the average player. Re: Rayman 1
My thoughts exactly. There are tons of other games, which I haven't beaten, neither as a kid, nor as an adult.Hunchman801 wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:55 pm I've always been a very average player yet I also find that people tend to greatly exaggerate the difficulty of the game. Re: Rayman 1
I had to use the lives cheat to beat Rayman 1 all those years ago, I don't think I'd fare much better today, but I'll concede I haven't had the patience or will to try in a decade.
Re: Rayman 1
If all you needed to beat the game is the lives cheat, simply familiarize yourself with the life farming technique (most recommended in Allegro Presto).Master wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 3:03 am I had to use the lives cheat to beat Rayman 1 all those years ago, I don't think I'd fare much better today, but I'll concede I haven't had the patience or will to try in a decade.

Re: Rayman 1
Actually to be completely accurate, it was actually the continues cheat, not livesdr_st wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 7:08 amIf all you needed to beat the game is the lives cheat, simply familiarize yourself with the life farming technique (most recommended in Allegro Presto).Master wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 3:03 am I had to use the lives cheat to beat Rayman 1 all those years ago, I don't think I'd fare much better today, but I'll concede I haven't had the patience or will to try in a decade.![]()
Farming is definitely a viable method, but I don't like farming as a means to compensate, it's effectively busywork. You could make the argument it's the more honest route, but if it's just repetitive action for the same endresult as using cheats, then I'd be more inclined to take the quicker and easier option tbh.

Re: Rayman 1
I guess life farming in Allegro Presto only works if you're sure-footed enough not to fall out the bottom of the third map
