Re: What will you do after school?
Interesting topic, after I leave school I want to graduate from college, after that... well... not quite sure, I do want to try something graphics or programming related, I may leave America and start up a company with a friend if things work accordingly but I'm not entirely sure, it's something I need to think of and consider, I'll possibly leave America though.
Re: What will you do after school?
If we're talking about only this year, I'm going to France. More specifically to a city called Annecy, where one of the biggest animation festivals is held. I'll be there for 5 days and then I'm going to Lyon for 2 days. AAAAND THEN... *breathe* ...I'm going to Chamonix for howmanydayswasitagain. But if we're talking about the whole school life ending, I've then graduated from an animation university and I would move to live in America because that's where the animation industry is the biggest.

Are your vocal cords starting to rot?

Re: What will you do after school?
It's been ten years since I left school so all I can say about myself is: GET A BETTER PAYING JOB AND GET A HOUSE
Re: What will you do after school?
My advice would be: decide what you want to do NOW and plan your future.
I pretty much wasted four years of my life doing false-start jobs for peanuts, and it's one of my biggest regrets in life.

Re: What will you do after school?
I don't have much ambition for anything. Maybe something in radio.

Re: What will you do after school?
It took me 6 years to get a job since I left school, 2 of which was spent doing voluntary work which I regret because charity shop work sucks. The job I have now is great but I only work 12 hours which, while it nets more money than the minimum wage, wouldn't be enough for me to keep even a tiny little flat because I have to take travel into account as well. I was going to have to wait for 3 more years to get one but I got booted off the waiting list because "ops living with parents". ATM I don't wanna risk packing up my current job right away only to take several more years getting another one.
Staying in the UK btw but I may wanna move more towards my bf's way rather than this place; it might be a good hotspot for art and craft shops as well as be a well known market town but transport and housing (build entire estates - only let over 55s live in it) sucks.

I think it would be a good idea for me to get out the country. Here in the Netherlands it seems you're either too young or too old.

Re: What will you do after school?
I'm staring post-secondary this coming year after I finish fucking high school, and afterwards I'll be moving to Europe to meet up with PowerPatrick, Rulez, and hopefully Rayfist as well. Patrick and I are what we'd consider to be the two leaders of our foundation, the to-be development studio known as Highly Amused. Patrick and I share virtually all the same opinions on everything and we share very similar goals and passions; however, he works moreso on the technical side of this, whereas I'm more of the abstract visionary, making us the absolute perfect productive duo.
Rulez is someone I've been discussing and working on music with for years now, and we've decided to meet up in a few years to form our band, also named Highly Amused, with him as the drummer; Rulez and I have a nearly identical sense of humour and taste in music. Rayfist, well Rayfist is probably my best friend, who I've known through YouTube ever since 2007. He's largely the one responsible for the joy and freedom I feel these days… well, joy and freedom of mind. We both share a large knowledge base on gaming, an activity we both love, devour and intensely discuss. Plus, like Rulez, we share an identical sense of humour.
There's my little tribute to the people whom I wish to meet up with after post-secondary. After ROTD is complete, if the game is a successful publish, we'll use the profit to found our studio, Highly Amused, and continue on to create games. We will also begin an animated film I've had evolving in my mind for years now, which will also hopefully build toward more films as well. Of course, all of this will come with a load of hard work, but I have no problem with that, as long as I'm able to get the hell out of the place I'm in currently.

Wow, I hope all the best for you! If I'm going to be successful in my likely job as an animator, I'll do anything to get my own cartoon series on TV. I just have to stop trying too hard with the story ideas of mine, because they become exaggerated or a complete mess when I become all obsessed with putting as much cool stuff as possible and that's no good.
Re: What will you do after school?
Aye my plans are similar to Ad's, but from a different person's point of view.
Re: What will you do after school?
Actually, who am I kidding. I'd love to do something in film. I just never seem to have the time to actually look into that, nor do I ever seem to get much encouragement when I share my ideas on these sorts of topics. Instead I'm being told how that's not where my future lies and what jobs would fit me better. Sometimes I wonder if anyone around me even has a fucking clue who I am.Keane wrote:I don't have much ambition for anything. Maybe something in radio.
Re: What will you do after school?
Interesting question, as I am already going to graduate in 2014 it's time to think of my future. After finishing my general education in college, I really want to attend OTIS,. It's a college that specializes in all visual media, but it attracted to me most of it's Toy design program and all the various animation studios they travel to. At the time being I want to develop ELEM before I finish college or that's what I hope so., and if all goes well I hope the game produces enough money to pay those who helped and help myself into creating an independent animation studio. I mostly want this because I want the rights to my characters, I've read stories of cartoonists' characters being used by the companies that own them and turn them into something the cartoonist did not want. Not only will this studio be for me, no way, this studio will be those who are in need of a publisher. I want to help other struggling animators find a place to create their ideas and let them flourish into something great. I also hope into making cartoons and fully animated features. I've have around to 2 shows that are developed and about 5 film stories still being thought. I know I may seem like I'm going ahead too much, but this is what I want to do after I'm done with school. But for right now it's but a dream.
Re: What will you do after school?
Well I only have one year of school left. I don't know yet for sure what I'm going to do, but I might work on a thess, and it's very likely that I'll work as a researcher, probably in a public lab or an academy. I've also been thinking of creating a start-up. One year to go.
Re: What will you do after school?
What kind of research do you see yourself doing, Des?
Seeing as I'm already in medical school, the only significant choice I face is what specialty to go into. So far, general surgery or neurology are the most tempting.
