What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
What direction do you guys think Rayman's 6th entry will take and why? Do you think will be getting a third part to the story line which began with Origins or a proper Rayman 4?
I think it will conclude with a third and final part to the origins saga because technically the first game is about how one teensie idolizes and does all of his actions in the name of Mr.Dark, the 2nd is about he got more teensies to join his cause. At this point you'd think Darks influence has grown quiet a lot and maybe just maybe the third and final part would be about his return wether or not it be 2d or 3d is unknown. So what you guys think?

Probably another game like Origins/Legends, or then something completely new. I don't really think that there's a some sort of a big story behind the newer games that tie them together, They just are.

Please make a proper 3D Game, none of this 2D stuff.
They still haven't made Rayman 4 IMO.

I wouldn't mind another 2D UbiArt game. They do a well good job on them and I'd be interested to see where they take the series next.

Duh. But some members do agree on me on plenty things. Do I need to bring up the Twinsanity debate?

OCG gets that, and anyhow that's off topic.
Either way, I will only buy another Rayman game if it comes back in it's true format of 3D.

No, the Origins/Legends style is fine where it is. I say make a 3D entry.... after Beyond Good and Evil 2. Really, I'm still sour over that cliffhanger on BG&E1.
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
I fucking want R4 (not the rabbid one, but the TRUE one, with mime costume and all :O)
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
I really can't see a logical point why Ubisoft should bring back the concept for the old Rayman 4 after so many years and the success of Origins and Legends. I'm completely happy with the 2D style they went with.
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
Rayman Legends was way more repetitive than Origins, they lost all ideas to do, if they do another it will be crap. Like, why would they add Origins level in Legends? Because the game would be too short and they had no other ideas lolRaymanni wrote:I really can't see a logical point why Ubisoft should bring back the concept for the old Rayman 4 after so many years and the success of Origins and Legends. It would feel odd if UbiArt styled Rayman games do not end up being a trilogy. I say they start making new one in secret but split the team so that other one works on 3D Rayman game. Then they should just release them at the same time. Problem solved.

If there's one thing I certainly don't want to ever happen with this team is the very thing you've just stated. They must NOT become Sonic Team and start pumping Rayman games out in every second year. If that happens, the games' quality will start dropping instantly.OldClassicGamer wrote:It would feel odd if UbiArt styled Rayman games do not end up being a trilogy. Yep Rayman 4 doesn't exist!
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
Mario gets games released very often and they are always good quality. Yes some are worse and some are better but they are all good games. If Mario can, Rayman can too. Issue with Sonic is not how often games are released but how the team handles them.SpyroGuy wrote:If there's one thing I certainly don't want to ever happen with this team is the very thing you've just stated. Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
I'm not familiar with Mario games, but aren't the basis gameplay of those games are relatively similar? Sonic was born as an "anti-Mario" and that's what founded his fanbase to begin with. Now, after Sonic Colors, the games began to follow this pattern (as of every game has a relatively similar gameplay) and thanks to this the fanbase is dying, because Sonic games were always diverse to begin with.OldClassicGamer wrote: Mario gets games released very often and they are always good quality. As of Rayman himself, I think that the dev team just understood better what kind of basic gameplay Rayman needs and they are building upon that. It's not hard to realize this, you just have to ignore the constant fan outcries and focus on your primary objective: Creating creative content with identity.
Take Rayman games for example. Each game has it's own unique feel, it's own personality, something from which you can know instantly which game you're playing. This does not apply to Sonic games post-2010 as all of them feel like some watered down version of Unleashed with slightly modified gameplay and art style which makes these games forgettable experiences, imo.
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
They should combine the best of both worlds and make a final, third part to the Origins series which is basically all of the main characters are 3D but everything else is drawings to simulate a 3D effect.
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
Considering that Origins and Legends have received similarly rave reviews, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 6th entry followed the same sort of formulae as those two games, i.e. same sort of gameplay/graphical style and a continuation of the storyline. I see little reason for Ubi to drop what revived the Rayman series after many years of mostly mediocre titles; unless the series begins to take a big downfall (e.g. Like how Sonic 4 EP1-2 turned out), we probably won't see a Rayman 4 for a while- especially not one that deviates from the gameplay/graphical style of Origins/Legends.
I am slightly concerned with the possibility of the formulae turning stale rather quickly, but having not played Legends yet and having seen the reviews, they'll probably think of something...

Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
This is hardly really true as the games have one big problem I don't want to see Rayman have... Super Mario 3D World, while a fun game feels rushed beyond relief, it isn't even a fully 3D game.Oldclassicgamer wrote:Mario gets games released very often and they are always good quality.
The Mario titles as of late, aren't BAD, but they've been getting worse than their predecessors. 8 feels worse than both 7 and wii in few aspects, 3D World is a huge step down from Mario Galaxy, AND FUCKING PAPER Mario sticker star is the worst Paper Mario yet. Sorry, I DON'T WANT to see Rayman take the route of his titles getting worse and worse.
Mario Galaxy was so amazing and I'm scared we'll never see anything of that quality again (playing it in Dolphin Emulator in HD, as we speak right now, so pretty.) I'd rather see Rayman continue with consistent titles rather than burning the fuck out. Rayman has more of a complex universe behind him than Mario does really, there's still so much they can do.
And no, Mario games are not 'always' good quality. Sticker Star was legitimately fucking terrible.
Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
Uhh, maybe because it's a 3D game that's supposed to play like a 2D Mario game? Just like 3D Land, ya know?Rayfist wrote:Super Mario 3D World, while a fun game feels rushed beyond relief, it isn't even a fully 3D game.
