RPC Xmas Theme Contest

Post by Master »

Welcome to the RPC Xmas Theme Contest!
As some members might remember, RPC usually is decked up in a special theme for the Christmas season. Sadly, that wasn't the case last year, and with the update this year, we've not had the chance to have one made for the season this time.

That being said, we are keen to have a theme in place this year, so we're doing something a bit different. This time, we're asking the community to help deck out the forums in wintry theming. We will select the best elements to be put into our 2016 Christmas theme. All participants will be rewarded for their efforts, and we're hoping that with the community's help, we'll have a grand theme for the Holiday season this year.

So, what's needed?
  • Forum Banner

  • Topic Icons
Please use the svg format for icons.

Adsolution wrote:For convenience, here are the original templates for the banner and icons - if this could be added to the first post, that would be great. Note that the FLA (icon) files were made in Adobe Animate, but they should still be completely compatible with Flash (I don't know if Flash can export SVGs though). When exporting as SVG, don't forget to hide any unused layers and uncheck "Export hidden layers".

By the way, entries don't have to contain a both a banner and forum and topic icons. You may enter either of these.

Cool idea! Working on a RayTunes redesign got me in the mood for more design work so I might participate. Got a few questions, though.
- Will the color scheme change for the christmas theme, and if so, how?
- What's the deadline? :)

AFAIK, Humch will have to correct me if I'm wrong, we're not changing the colour scheme, just the images and icons.

Not so sure on the deadline, that's Humch 's call, since he'll be the one applying the chosen items.

Well it'd be good to have everything sorted by mid-December I guess, we know Christmas holidays can be busy.

For convenience, here are the original templates for the banner and icons - if this could be added to the first post, that would be great. When exporting as SVG, don't forget to hide any unused layers and uncheck "Export hidden layers".
