Rayman 3 Cutscene SYNC

Post by StelzenBomber »

So you know that Rayman 3's cutscenes kind of out of sync, meaning they sometimes talk at the wrong time.

This is obviously because it's only lip synced for the french dialoge

But there is another factor to this.

This factor is 50 Hz to 60 Hz

I tested the whole game with these 2 modes in 3 languiges

And as you might ecpect, in PAL 50 Hz, the cutscenes are a lot more on SYNC, in fact the only major one i noticed was in the desert of the knaaren

On 60 Hz however i saw a lot more Out of Syncing in every languige

so...kind of a pointless post but i just wanted to share what i think of it

This is actually kind of odd because usually it would be the opposite way around and PAL 50hz is where the problem would occur. I was actually wondering why the cut-scenes were so far off on the PS2 even though I remembered them not being that bad, but then I remembered I had changed it to 60hz. When I played the PS2 version at first I actually didn't realise you could change it to 60hz because you have to manually do it in options. So what happened was I had played a few levels at 50hz with the cut-scenes in sync. Playing in 60hz as you said then must be the reason I couldn't get them in sync again. Kind of odd if it works like that though.

That explains why the Gamecube ones are in sync then because that version is 50hz and you aren't allowed change that one to 60hz.

I still wonder would it be weird to play Origins on a CRT with the PS3 because then it's 50hz and the game is going slower
