Rayman Revolution for PS3, PC and Xbox360
Do you think it would be possible for Ubisoft the convert Rayman Revolution for PC, PS3 and the Xbox360? Coz, i've heard that someone from RZ doesn't have a PS2.

When I visited the UbiSoft Marketing Department in Paris, they clearly told me it would never happen

I don't understand why they designed the game to be available on PS2 and no other platform... It makes no sence to me.

Re: Rayman Revolution for PS3, PC and Xbox360
I'm pretty sure that Rayman Revolution was made to be a launch title for the PS2 when it came out, while the PS1 version and Rayman Rush was made for those who could not afford PS2s for the first couple of years. Personally I would not like to see any more ports of Rayman 2 because well, we don't really need them. Maybe in a good number of years PS2 emulation [I hear some actually exists, but I'm not sure it works too well] will develop and one can play Rev on their PCs. PS2s aren't so expensive anymore now that the PS3 is in place...

The game was PS2 exclusive for commercial purposes

Heh, that and Rayman M were the only reasons why I wanted a PS2.

Re: Rayman Revolution for PS3, PC and Xbox360
Keep in mind that Rayman 2 on the PlayStation or the PlayStation2 should be playable on the PoS3. Rayman 2: Revolution is only a minor revision of The Great Escape, so there need not be Revolution on the PC. The only way it would show up on the Xbox 360 is probably through the Xbox Live Arcade, though that'd almost seem a little too recent to put in there. (I could see the original Rayman going through that though.) Then come commercial purposes as well as the fact that it's just old. Unless a complete revamp was done to it, it would be pointless to even put out. Sometimes developers try avoiding the revamp part and just release a game from a half-decade ago on a newer console. Sonic Adventure DX on the GameCube is a good example of this. Few graphical changes were noticeable at all (like the Sonic model was the newer one where he's made less plump) and few changes were made otherwise. (Like a typo where "Robotnik" was spelled "Robotonik", and that was one of the most noticeable.) As a result of being a shoddy port (since the original game was rushed some to meet the Dreamcast launch--very noticeably), it gained mediocre reviews which is bad for business. The Rayman series really needs to move forward as well.

That's exactly what I was told by the marketing department of Ubi when I asked them why there was no PC version of Rayman Revolution.

i'll assume you meant to say ps3, but that's actually wrong. they got rid of the backwards compatability so they could lower the price. it's still too much though.foultzboyz wrote:Keep in mind that Rayman 2 on the PlayStation or the PlayStation2 should be playable on the PoS3.

No, I definitely meant PoS3. (Could someone tell him? Not too many people get it...)
