Errr...
If you mean cross-platform connectivity (vide R3 GBA - GC R3), nope. If you mean differences in skills, I haven't heard about any.

Re: Rayman DS question!
I mean, Is there any news in the DS version? New levels, new characters or new enemies or something?

Just the stylus control, other than that, it is the same as the N64 Version.

Re: Rayman DS question!
I think that the graphics and sound quality are decreased from the N64 version, though.

Well, obviously the graphics are much more choppy and less detailed. And the sound is worse I think, too. For example I just could not imagine the DS version's horrible attempt at a Cave of Bad Dreams theme being in the N64 version.

Re: Rayman DS question!
It had a good intention but sadly I would have rather had a brand new 2D game with full interactive touch screen capabilities than this trainwreck of a port.
Re: Rayman DS question!
I liked it ^^ Because it was hard to control etc. it made the game harder.

Re: Rayman DS question!
Well, using touch-screen would cause serious absurds. It would be better to not use it, in my opinion - well, if it wouldn't be simply a "gesture field".
Re: Rayman DS question!
Yes..... TGE has version differences but there is TWO versions the same: N64 and DS version (DS version just the N64 version portable because it has the same music etc.)
Re: Rayman DS question!
Looking at it now, Rayman 2 would have been better suited for something like the PSP rather than the DS. I would rather take a new original game that takes complete advantage of the DS' control scheme rather than a port.
Surprisingly, RRR DS wasn't too bad, though it was pretty ugly.
*hugs my PC version of Rayman 2*

You don't have to use it though, but's still bad. I can't get past TSOSAF.stan423321 wrote:Well, using touch-screen would cause serious absurds. It would be better to not use it, in my opinion - well, if it wouldn't be simply a "gesture field".

I'm stuck on the revisit to Menhir Hills on the shell ride. Seriously, it's fucking hell trying to dodge those menhirs. I can't do it and it makes me so angry I haven't played the game since.
Does anyone use the touch screen control? It's completely horrible. I'm guessing they only made it so that people couldn't complain there was no touch screen features.

Re: Rayman DS question!
According to R:HR, "menhirs" are in fact standing stones with runes inscribed on them. I had always assumed that they were those things that rose out of the ground in the Menhir Hills in R2.dingodile555 wrote:I'm stuck on the revisit to Menhir Hills on the shell ride. In R2 I used to think it was just a made-up name for the area but I learned what menhirs are in Asterix & Obelix

Well it's a PSN game, so it's technically not a PSP game, but still...

I remember trying to use the directional pad, and it wasn't sensitive enough to move accurately.

But it's the bizarre PS1 version, with it's good points, but including horrible level design, in my opinion.spiraldoor wrote:It is on the PSPPhoenixan wrote:Looking at it now, Rayman 2 would have been better suited for something like the PSP rather than the DS.![]()

Re: Rayman DS question!
Seriously if someone is getting frustrated from Rayman DS's bad controls, I really think you should just give up and play a good version of the game. The game can already be hard enough with a proper game pad in some points, so I can't imagine trying to beat parts that take precision timing with bad controls.
