Rayman 2 PC gamepad NOT WORKING..help please!

I just dug up my copy of Rayman 2 for PC...i've been dying to play...but the gamepad will not work. I got the game installed and it runs fine but the gamepad will not work at all! It is found under Windows XP Control Panel - Game controllers and works in my other games but its not responding at all in Rayman 2. When I go to calibrate it in-game it does not respond either. Please help...I have scoured the web and can't find any answers...this is killing me, I'm dying to play!

Well, first... what gamepad is that? When did you buy it? Anyway, as far as I know, Rayman 2 has a lot of problem with gamepads, and I would suggest using Xpadder and mapping the keys.

Mine worked fine until it was broken. I think H801's program would work perfectly.

I use the MP-8866 Dual USB Joypad adapter for use with PS2 controllers. I have never had a problem with it in Windows or in any other game. I got Xpadder but I'm not sure how this would help it be compatible in Rayman 2 ?? Also, what is this H801 program you mentioned? Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated as I am dying to play this game once again!

Xpadder is a program that will map keyboard inputs to the gamepad.
So if you set space to Button 1, pressing button 1 will have the same effect has pressing the space bar.

Well I got xpadder up and running and it works perfectly with Rayman 2 now...so I thank you...what a great little program!
