Your project sounds quite interesting; good luck with it. You may wish to read over
this thread if you haven't done so already.

I still find it incredible how that user made that new world.

Wow, the animation in that is so smooth!

Can't wait to see more.

Sounds like an awesome idea

As spiraldoor mentioned, another user called
Phoebius also used to work on a homebrew PSP game, and I suggest you contact him, he may prove really useful.

You've probably already seen some of
Drolpiraat's work, but most of the backgrounds which he extracted weren't posted until
the eighth page, so you may not have seen them yet, and they'll certainly come in handy.

Wow, this is coming along nicely!
Do you mind if I ask what you're writing that in? A lot of 2D PSP homebrew tends to be done with LuaPlayer.

Do you have Rayman Designer? I'm pretty sure you could extract the base tiles directly from the game files.

If he doesn't, anyone who does can just open the PCX files in Gimp or Photoshop, then save them as PNGs and upload them for him.

Those don't have everything, though. I could upload PNGs of the add-on PCXs in the Extended Rayman Designer Editor though.
Just give me a minute.

Well, here are the tile files anyway, in case anyone wants them:

In the ripping topic, MasterRay posted some object sprite rips from Rayman Designer.
