Chile miners accident - Getting them out now!

Post by IllarKallas »

Almost 70 days have passed since that terrible accident in the San José mine, trapped 700 Mts. down from civilisation, the camp named ''Hope'' was made there, the people started losing their hope of the miners being alive, lots of things were tried to get them out, later they made a hole and made a camera enter, a face of a miner was looking at the camera, like trying to say: ''Hey! We are here!''
17 days eating only small portions of tuna, not much water, heat, and poor oxigen, the rescuers started giving them food and water.
Now, they are getting them out of that decaying mine with capsules, 17 miners have been saved, 15 left.
The world is waiting for all the miners to get out, this has been the worst miner accident in the story of Chile/world, and the biggest rescue, is just awesome how the people is focused in this enormous rescue.

Viva Chile! ^^
Wow, that was a big discourse

What do you think of it? Do you have any opinions?
I was losing my hope too ( like 2 months ago), i wondered if they were alive, or if they managed to run away before that big rock blocked the way, now i think that everyone will get out alive.

How many did they get out by now? Last time I checked it was 13?

They've put a live broadcast of it on one of the news channels we have here all day today, the whole thing is just heartwarming to see them being rescued [albeit, slowly] and being reunited with families etc.

I heard it was 17.

It should be horrible to be trapped 700 mts. below floor on a dark and scary place...

YES!!! 17!!! NOW THEY ARE 17!!! WOOH!!! The people are nervous and happy at the same time! Omar Reygadas (55 years old) Is going to get out now!!

There's been some speculation about whether these people will have developed permanent psychological problems as a result of being trapped underground for so long. I hope that's not the case.

Well it's great, the media were getting tired of that accident and it had been a while we hadn't heard about it.

I'm so glad that they are safe now.

I was concerned before because the rescuing was predicted to Xmas only, but fortuneatly it was way earlier than that.

I couldn't care less about the Chile miners to be honest. :/
The jokes said on Mock The Week about them were hilarious though
"Oh oh something's coming down the chute... oh great... it's a picture of Elvis. Couldn't you send down a picture of a naked woman or something? The men are starting to look good down here!"

Yes! Yes! Esteban Rojas, my favourite miner! I’m so glad he’s safe. I’ve been praying fervently for his deliverance for many moons now.

Okay I think the BBC have televised this issue too heavily and I'm getting sick of hearing headline after headline about this. There are much more serious and terrible things happening in the world.

They've all been saved? Great news. Now let's move on!
