Rayman 3 HDDX

Post by Madder »

Exactly 3 years ago, I pubblically released Better Rayman 3 HD; a texture pack for Rayman 3 that was some sort of improvemnet to the existing texture packs, since I wasn't quite happy with neither of them, and while it did serve its purpose, looking back I couldn't help but to think "I could have done that better". Well, that moment has arrivied. I present you Rayman 3 HDDX.

Without going into unnecessary deteils, this texture pack is built off of BR3HD and uses even more enhanced textures from other texture packs, as well as refining them further and add even more modifications on top of them, to make everything more coherent and refinied. Some of its features include revamped UI, more seamless textures, refinied visuals, fixed deteils of the original game, and no more random Rayman 1 references, with the exception of 2D Madness, which now features full HD sharp sprites, however this might be changed to aim for a more Rayman 3 aesthetic and turned into a seperate mod instead. It also features patched material files to fix some texture issues with the base game, as well as a custom icon you use for a link to the game. This is just a quick summarize of what it has to offer; try it for yourself by downloading its first beta over at its Internet Archive page.

Since this is a beta, is not yet fully complete. This is why I invite you to playtest it and report any feedback you may have in this post. Additionally, if you want to follow up its progress and contribute to it directly, you also join my Rayman 3 Discord server (link removed), where I have share updates and occasionally ask for feedback. I add that some features like porting to other consoles versions is planned, as well as appropriate UI for each one, but all that once the main release for PC it's done. Finally, to facilitate playtesting, you can use Rayman Control Panel's runtime option to select a map externally from the game, or my stage select save files pack for direct to each section access from within the game.

Hope you enjoied my birthday gift for y'all; can't wait to finish this and work on even greater projects, both around and outside Rayman 3, as I'm doing already, but for now that's where I'm currently am. Enjoy the pack and whatnot.

I'm looking forward to seeing this project finished one day; it looks promising.

Do you have any plans to update the HUDs for modern controllers too? I wanted to download the ones you uploaded on Google Drive, but it says that I need access.

So can you please make the modern controllers HUDs available for download or upload it elsewhere? I thought it was a neat mod and it's a shame that i can't download it.
The project is pretty much done for what I was aiming for. I shifted the focus to a different kind of texture pack, which is what VZ ultimately became. ALl my mods are inspectable and improvable, so if you see room for improvement, go nuts; I myself am done with texture packs for Rayman 3.

Excuse me, but you didn't answer my question: Do you have any plans to update the HUDs for modern controllers?
Also, is there any other way to download this mod, and why did you delete the original one on Google Drive?

I removed the link to the Google drive. Where exactly did you find this link?

Madder's original post clearly points to the Internet Archive as the download page. His reply to you also answers pretty clearly that he does not plan any further updates to the project.

The Google Drive page was made by deton24 as a backup alongsise my R3 save files pack. They were both originally uploaded and shared on my MediaFire account, however some years ago the BR3HD download page was acting up for reasons I don't remember and it wasn't available for download no more. Before I (somehow) restored it, deton24 deliberatly backed up those two in case it happened again.

As a side note, I can no longer edit my old BR3HD post, for some reasons, so I can't replace the deprecated download link with the new one, but once again, deton24 jumped in and added it himself.

I found the link for the controller HUDs Here, and that's how it looked before the files were deleted.

Also, from what I read, Madder seemed to be talking about the HD texture mod, and not the HUDs for the more modern controllers.

Think you're just stubborn dude; I personally find you both hilarious and exhausting.

Honestly with the release of the Rayman assets archive you can go ahead and grab the HUD textures yourself; no need to keep bashing the same stuff over and over again in every of my posts, as if I was accountable for those; I marely pointed you out that someone already went ahead and uploaded them. Whether they were took down or not is not on me, end of story.

Sorry, when I made my last post, yours didn't show up at the time, looks like your post wasn't approved when I made mine.

Anyway, thanks for clarifying the situation.
