Rayman, Space Mama music reference

Post by Lord_Noir »

I seem to doubt anybody has noticed this before, but during both of Space Mama's battle themes, there is a recurring riff that sounds remarkably similiar to the infamous Close Encounters "music".

Here's a Youtube video of the Close Encounters scene.

And here is the theme for Space Mama (second battle)

If anybody else agrees with my find here, I believe it would be appropiate to add this to the Trivia section of the RayWiki Space Mama page.

I actually always though Space Mama's theme sounded a bit like "Colours of the Wind" from the Pocahontas soundtrack.

Some music track in Art Land (or whatever it was called, I only have the german version) always reminded me a lot of A whiter shade of pale, but I have no idea what track that was right now.

Music is an art form, it wouldn't be out of the picture (lol gettit) for there to be various music references to popular culture. Is it worth noting any of these, if we get more with evidence?

There is a world for musical references, but it’s not Picture City.
