Rayman 2 Cutscenes

Post by plotlineplus »

So, right now I'm putting together a movie version of all the Rayman 2 cutscenes.
(No, really. It's almost done.)
It's re-dubbed, re-scored and purposely overblown.
Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoGhNaS2iMs

I like what you've done with some of the sequences, but the lighting in others you should have kept more true to its original. What a fun project! I hope it turns out nicely for you. :)

Also, if you like, here's a thread to introduce yourself in to the forum:

Hey, look at that, it's Rayman 2 meets Battlefield 3!

Yeah, the lens flares are a bit much.
I was afraid someone would say Micheal Bay... Uughh.

Seriously though, I just want to make something different and purposely overdramatic.
I cant just change one thing or it destroys the point of making it in the first place. But I'm just having fun playing with my favorite game of all time.
Some guys from Youtube that I helped in the past offered to help dub some voices.
What we have is... Passable, but once again, its just for the heck of it.
Also, all the music is dubbed and sound effects are re-done.
Which, once again, the game has my second favorite soundtrack as well, but its just to add variety with overdramatic orchestral pieces.
Realisticly, I'm gonna make some purists mad, but I ask that they just have fun with it.

Sure - it looks like a fun thing to be doing! By dubbed voices, do you mean you did the voices for the characters with their original lines, or did you come up with funny/random things for them to say?

Now that I've listened to it with the nice addition of audio, I can say that it's very well done, the music-picture synchronisation is perfect; if this were an official trailer for the game, I'd buy it.

Though I must say, some of the effects, while nice looking in their own merit, are a little too layered. One specific example being when you used the lens-dirt effect while the spiral door was being created in the Woods of Light, it looked a bit out of place.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Maybe I'll go back and fix it. My program crashes on me constantly, which is really frustrating.
As for voice dubbing, no. Its faithful to the original dialoge.
Well... I originally had planned to change up Murfy's dialoge a little. But... Then I realized it might be a little offensive in a sterotypical kind of way.

And, if anyone has the means to make an epic version of Ly's theme, that would be fantastic.
Also, if any person is interested in dubbing Globox in an original way, feel free to audition. (No pay, obviously)
Just for fun.
